"At a point when civil war has broken out with the French royal family, mobilizing that many troops means they hired mercenaries. If you hadn't interrogated that eccentric knight and extracted the information, we'd have been stuck on the defensive."

"Isn't facing mercenaries more dangerous than facing levies?"

"It would have been if the civil war hadn't broken out."
