Hua Han had never seen Wanwan like this.
So full of acceptance and tenderness for him.
He knew he was done for. Before, he couldn't let her go after just one look. Now, she was carved deep into his very bones.
He would rather lose his life than leave her again.
To keep her from seeing how moved and excited he was, he reacted in a flash, burying his face in the crook of Bai Wanwan's neck. He tightened his arms around her, his voice muffled, "Wanwan..."
Bai Wanwan eyed him. "Still pretending? Keep it up and you can get off."
Hua Han stiffened, not daring to turn and look at her face. "You... you knew?"
'He's no professional actor. Of course his cover would be blown.'
'Hua Han is actually quite talented at it. If it had been Yan Lie, his act probably would've been exposed the moment he regained consciousness.'
"Mhm."
A thread of fear spread through Hua Han's heart. "Wanwan... I... I really was injured. The black mist in my head has been there all along. It comes and goes."
