"I did what you said and prayed to the north and south. Do you think it'll work?" Zane Wyatt's eyes sparkled as he looked at Nina Donovan, waiting for her answer.
Nina rolled her eyes at him, speechless, and joked, "You might as well just pray to me. You'd get your results faster that way."
Hearing this, Zane made a move to kneel before Nina. "Alright, then! Whatever works."
Seeing he was serious, Nina quickly pulled him back. "Praying to me is useless. I don't like you right now!"
"Why? If it's because we haven't known each other long, you can get to know me better. I'll work really, really hard for you. If your dad doesn't approve of me, can you just give me some time? I don't come from a good family. All I have right now is the drive of my youth." Zane sighed helplessly.
He hated that he had met the person he most wanted to keep at the most powerless age of his life.
He was only eighteen.
