Lu Yao and Liu Shiting came into the dorm room one right after the other.
They had both chosen the same elective: Music Appreciation.
They had just gotten back from class.
The reason they were in the same class was that Lu Yao had seen Liu Shiting sign up for Music Appreciation and decided to pick it as well.
Her excuse was that it would be nice to have a companion in class.
