The next day, Anya and Sarah joined a yoga class at Fan Yan Resort.
The class was held on a cliffside terrace at the edge of the resort's buildings. Huge red sandstone formations created a natural, semi-enclosed dome, perfectly positioned to catch the morning sun.
The air was still filled with the faint, slightly bitter scent of fir and frankincense incense. Accompanied by low-frequency meditation music, a dozen or so women stretched on their yoga mats.
The woman teaching the class was once again dressed in a solid-colored long dress, her hair woven into an intricate French fishtail braid. She looked to be only a little older than Anya, maybe in her twenties.
"Deep breaths, sisters. Feel the power of nature and empty your minds."
Dressed in yoga attire, Anya stood out starkly among the group of women in their vintage-style long dresses. She frowned at the other women as she held a downward dog pose.
