Behind the Jinggang Chamber of Commerce building, a sprawling complex of classical-style architecture came into view.
Red-lacquered courtyard walls, ornately carved beams and painted rafters, black-tiled pavilions... Compared to the surrounding bustling high-rises, this architectural complex seemed somewhat out of place.
Yet, a glass canopy covered parts of the complex, and floating cars would occasionally land and take off from above.
The surrounding city blocks were all cordoned off or rerouted. The only ways to enter this pavilion complex were to pass through the Jinggang Chamber of Commerce building or to land via floating car.
Gazing at this place from afar, passersby on distant streets and office workers in the high-rises all had envious looks in their eyes.
