After dinner, Damian Xavier drove Aria Sterling back to school.
The glow of the streetlights along the road shifted with the traffic, casting light across his face.
The focused way he drove added a layer of dependability to his already handsome features, and Aria Sterling found herself just watching him.
'I don't know if it's because we've spent so much time together,' she mused, 'but he's somehow become the person I know best.'
As she was lost in these miscellaneous thoughts, the car came to a stop at the school gate.
"Should've driven a little slower," Damian said nonchalantly, his hands resting on the steering wheel.
Aria Sterling lowered her head shyly. She had been very happy today, all because of him.
He was surprisingly gentle with her. Although she wasn't quite used to it, she found that she rather liked him this way.
Perhaps if he were always this gentle, it would actually be a good thing.
