"Leila, you're up so early?" Clara Zimmers hadn't slept well all night, and her head was still groggy.
"Mom, do you have any money? Give me some." Leila Lane placed the warm milk on the bedside table.
"Sigh!" Clara Zimmers let out a long sigh and picked up her phone to transfer two thousand to Leila.
"Mom? Two thousand?" Leila Lane stared at Clara Zimmers in disbelief. "Ivy Holden used to give me at least five thousand for spending money."
Clara Zimmers said helplessly, "We're burning through our savings, Leila. We have to figure something out."
Leila didn't like the sound of that. "Mom, you get an end-of-year dividend from the Zimmers Group, don't you? We haven't touched that money for years, so there should be a considerable amount saved up, right? What are you holding onto all that money for?!"
"Savings? Money just sits in the bank devaluing every day. I invested it. Using money to make money—that's the smart thing to do."
