Ivy Holden stared at Bobby Yates. "Amanda Spencer's illegitimate son, Sheldon Spencer, belongs to the Shaw Family. I'm sure you already figured that out without me having to say it."
Bobby Yates said with a sigh, "We'll investigate it, but it has no direct connection to your mother's car accident."
Ivy Holden nodded. "That's true. Speculation can't be used as a basis in court."
Nathan Rowan said, "Even if someone else was pulling the strings, Amanda Spencer can't escape the charge of murder for hire."
"True enough." Bobby Yates nodded and took a sip of his tea.
"So when will the case be heard? I need to prepare."
"You can file the suit on your end. I'll provide all the relevant testimony and records to the court."
Ivy Holden refilled Bobby Yates's cup before lifting her own. "Thank you, Officer Yates."
Bobby Yates smiled. "Jensen and I have been through hell and back together. Calling me 'Officer' is too formal."
"Yates," Ivy Holden amended, following his lead.
