The rain stopped just as the car pulled up to the hotel. The dark clouds in the sky had yet to part, but the sun tore an opening through them. Dazzling, silky rays of light shone through, fine and gentle, like a princess trapped in an ancient castle who, out of sheer boredom, had let her golden hair scatter in the wind.
The moment she stepped out of the car, Ivy Holden saw the Thorne family's bodyguards waiting in the parking lot. She walked over, confused.
Before she could ask anything, a bodyguard bowed and said, "President Holden. Mr. Thorne wishes to speak with you. He's waiting in the car."
"Mr. Thorne is here too?" Ivy Holden glanced at Jensen Morrison, confused.
Jensen Morrison took her hand and led her into the black luxury van.
"Jensen, Ivy, sit down." Zachary Thorne was seated at a small table inside, where three cups of coffee had been set out.
"Tanya didn't tell me you were coming," Ivy Holden said as she sat down across from Zachary Thorne.
