"Well said. Even for murder, the worst they can do is execute you—what did Professor Morgan ever do to you? You drove him into a corner, leaving him with nowhere to go. If you hate me, come after me! Why did you have to hurt innocent people? Sheldon Spencer, you deserve worse than death!" Ivy yelled, then hung up the phone.
After hanging up, Ivy leaned back on the sofa to calm down for a moment before calling Jensen Morrison.
He picked up on the first ring. Jensen's deep, reassuring voice came through the line. "Ivy, don't worry. This will all be over soon."
"Where are you?" Ivy asked in a low voice.
"I'm at the office. Don't worry. In another two hours, I'll pick you up for dinner."
Ivy hung up, opened the door, and ran.
The people behind the glass partition were stunned by their boss's actions, all of them wondering what could have possibly happened to make their brilliant and composed boss act so panicked.
