Sheldon Cheney was annoyed, but the man before him was a heavyweight in the jade and jewelry business, so he couldn't just show his displeasure.
Harmon gave Ivy Holden an apologetic smile, preparing to get up to exchange pleasantries with the man at the door and keep him from coming in.
Ivy Holden waved her hand to show it was nothing and added in a low voice, "It's okay. Don't let things get ugly."
"Sorry about that." As someone also in the entertainment industry, Harmon naturally understood how annoying these social obligations were, yet they were unavoidable. She got up, walked to the door, took Sheldon Cheney's arm, and said with a smile, "President Grayson, what a pleasure! We're all friends here, why don't you come in for a drink?"
"Is it convenient?" Grayson asked, even as he was already stepping inside.
Out of deference to Harmon, Ivy Holden put down her chopsticks, stood up, and smiled at the newcomer.
