Lianne gestured for Seth Sinclair to be quiet before swiping to answer the call.
"Ethan."
"You're not home?" Ethan Sinclair's warm, deep voice was slightly nasal.
"No," Lianne said, her expression unchanging. "I've been at school lately."
The corners of Seth Sinclair's lips quirked up as he studied her, a glint of amusement in his eyes.
Lianne asked, "Did you need something?"
"Nothing in particular," Ethan Sinclair said. "The peach tree is budding. Come back and see it when you have time."
"Okay." She hadn't tended to the peach tree in a long time. The gardener must be taking good care of it.
When the call ended, Ethan Sinclair leaned back against the leather seat and let out a soft cough.
Seeing this, Assistant Hollis, in the driver's seat, asked, "Should I take you to the hospital, or call a doctor to the house?"
Ethan Sinclair said neither was necessary.
