The phone lying on the table lit up.
A new email popped up.
Quinn Preston picked up his phone, tapped to open it, and saw an attachment: two freshly issued paternity test reports.
He lifted his gaze and glanced at Lianne Lianne before discreetly opening the attachment. He finished reading the first report, then opened the second.
A flicker of surprise crossed Quinn Preston's eyes, but he quickly put the phone down as if nothing had happened.
"Thank you." After looking everything over, Lianne Lianne stuffed the documents and photos back into the folder and handed it back, perfectly intact. "I'm sorry for all the trouble. I'll treat you to dinner some other time."
The restaurant's lighting was soft, casting a gentle glow over her delicate face, yet it seemed to shroud her in a thin, cold light.
Lianne Lianne's long lashes drooped as she bid him a polite farewell. "Well, I'll let you get back to your business. I'll be going now. Goodbye."
