Angela's words made Yarn's brow furrow. He knew she was right. His family and hers had intermarried for generations, starting from their great-grandfathers, and they were frequent partners in business. The two families were inextricably linked. Whether for the sake of their long-standing friendship or their business alliance, marriage between them was a foregone conclusion.
He was the youngest son. While his marriage to Angela still had some room for negotiation—if he was adamant in his opposition, the family elders wouldn't force him to marry her—if he wanted to marry a Chinese woman, the elders would absolutely never allow it.
At that thought, Yarn froze. 'I've only met that Chinese girl once or twice. How did one sentence from Angela make me jump straight to thinking about marriage?'
