Alaric Davenport watched her put her phone down but didn't say anything.
He had just seen a message from Ethan Lockwood. Right after they'd left, Young Mr. Morrison had collapsed and injured his spine. Alaric had deliberately hidden this when he'd led Rosalind away.
And he had no intention of telling her, either.
"Sherry told me Young Mr. Morrison is okay," Rosalind Lowell said to him with a smile.
Alaric Davenport seemed to space out for a moment, then nodded.
"Is there anything else I can help with at the studio?" he asked, casually changing the subject.
Rosalind Lowell shook her head. "Not for now. Let's finish the renovations first; the site is too dangerous. Tomorrow, I want to buy a gift for Young Mr. Morrison to thank him in person. If he hadn't saved me, I would have been the one who got hit."
Alaric Davenport's brow furrowed slightly. She had brought the topic right back around. "There's no need."
"Hm?"
