Alaric Davenport wrapped his arms around her from behind, and her ears burned fiercely.

Rosalind Lowell spun around, her face beet red. She shoved him away. "That was when you hadn't come back! Now that you're here, our original agreement still stands, right?"
Alaric Davenport stroked his chin. "That's a pretty big sacrifice for you to make. Even if I have no heir, there are others. The Davenport Group won't collapse."
"That's because you saved me. If you were to be without..." Her voice trailed off. It would be too pitiful for him to have no heir.
She couldn't seem to say anything right.
"You still haven't told me where you were these past two days."
