As he spoke, he pulled her aside. Moments later, an ambulance arrived and the two were moved onto it.
Behind their backs, Jessica Sutton smirked. 'She was the one who had handed the lighter to Don Lowell, and she was the one who had tampered with it.'
'Don Lowell had bumped into her first; everyone saw it. No one would suspect her. Not unless they suspected Don Lowell.'
In the small hours of the morning, the two injured people were sent back. Half of Shannon Hale's face was wrapped in gauze, and Jessica Sutton returned on a crutch, supported by Don Lowell.
"How are they?" Keith Thorne asked.
"Jessica sprained her ankle. She'll need to rest for a while."
Then, he looked over at Shannon Hale. Tears still stained her face, and her eyes were red.
"She's… not doing well… It'll probably leave a scar."
