Rosalind Lowell hung up, deleted the call from her log, and then carried the phone upstairs.
Just as she reached the door, she heard voices coming from behind the partially closed door of Herman Lowell and Yvonne Carter's room.
"Are you sure it'll be fine if they find out our transfer account numbers?"
Herman Lowell chuckled. "Those are the accounts of those other bosses. Once Alaric Davenport cuts them off, only our people will be left."
Rosalind's eyes widened. The sudden ringing of the phone in her hand made her jump.
Holding Herman Lowell's phone, she quickly knocked on the door. "Dad, your phone's ringing. I brought it up for you."
Herman Lowell opened the door and snatched the phone from her irritably. He glanced at the screen, then back at her, before declining the call.
"Anything else?"
"No, nothing."
She saw Herman Lowell let out a sigh of relief. Just as she was about to turn away, she asked, "Dad, do you know who my birth parents are?"
