"Rosalind, is this okay?"
Rosalind pressed her hand against his chest, her face flushed. "Alaric, are you crazy?"
"How long do I have to wait?" Alaric's throat felt dry, his voice hoarse.
His Adam's apple bobbed. He rolled over and sat up. "Then I'll ask now."
Rosalind immediately snatched his phone. "No, that's... not a good idea, is it?"
Alaric was unconcerned. "What's the big deal?"
"In any case, we definitely can't right now."
Rosalind covered her face. 'This is the happiest I've ever been.'
Alaric cupped her chin. "You're about to be a mother, and you're still this shy?"
Just as he was about to lower his gaze, the phone in his hand rang.
Rosalind looked over as he answered the phone.
"What is it?" Alaric's voice had lost its earlier gentleness, becoming somewhat brusque.
"No, we're not going. It's not a good time for her."
Alaric glanced at her as he spoke. Rosalind, her eyes wide, was staring at him. 'Is he talking about me?'
"What is it?" Rosalind mouthed.
