Recently, during Dan's rigorous training sessions within the domain of the Depth Seal, he began to notice something peculiar and profoundly intriguing. This phenomenon manifested most clearly during the moments when the atmospheric suction reached its absolute peak—where the compressed air within the central radius became nearly oil-like in its density. It transformed into a semi-transparent, heavy, and slightly viscous fluid.
In these specific moments, he realized that this gargantuan mass of condensed air contained a strange, additional element. It was an energy—intense, vibrant, and active—fused and naturally blended within the pressure. It was not Chakra. It was something else entirely: different, perhaps purer.
Initially, Dan was greatly surprised by this sudden discovery. What was this energy? From where did it originate? Why was it only perceptible during extreme condensation? However, as he continued his attempts to sense this mysterious force with greater precision and understand its nature, the realization gradually dawned on him. He suddenly recalled one of the most vital and unique properties of this particular world—a characteristic that had appeared numerous times in the anime, explained and utilized to play a massive role in the narrative.
Natural Energy.
Yes, that was precisely what it was. The energy that permeated every corner of this world. This force—also known as the foundation for Senjutsu Chakra when blended with one's own internal energy—existed naturally in everything, living and non-living alike. It was in the air, the earth, the water, the flora, and the fauna. It was in nearly every atom. It was the raw energy of nature itself, the very breath of life.
It served as the bedrock for the Sage Mode Dan had witnessed in the anime—the technique utilized by the likes of Naruto and Jiraiya. It was a power that granted staggering strength, superhuman speed, incredible durability, and devastating techniques. Yet, it was notoriously difficult to master and lethally dangerous if mishandled.
Perhaps most importantly, this Natural Energy was the root cause of the greatest existential threats facing the entire planet. The true reason the terrifying intergalactic Otsutsuki Clan targeted this specific small world was not for its mundane resources or its land. They sought to harvest its massive accumulation of Natural Energy, gathered over millions of years. Their method was the planting of the Tree—a colossal, parasitic entity that drains all Natural Energy from a planet, condensing it into a single Chakra Fruit. Once a member of the Otsutsuki consumes it, they gain transcendent power, leaving the planet a barren, lifeless husk—a dead rock drifting in space. The entire history of this world—its conflicts, wars, and tragedies—was built upon this single foundation: Natural Energy. Who controls it, who exploits it, and who protects it.
In truth, Dan had resolved years ago to seriously study this enigmatic energy later in his journey—once he grew stronger, secured more time, and finished his current projects. He had planned to address it when he felt his current path to power was slowing down. His first obstacle would be finding a way to sense it, as he clearly did not possess the innate, shark-like instinct required to perceive Natural Energy. Most people lacked it; it was a rare talent that usually required specific training, sacred locations, and years of labor.
But it appeared that, through a stroke of fortunate coincidence, he had bypassed a significant amount of complex research and wasted time. This was thanks to the Depth Seal itself.
The logic was simple: because the Depth Seal condensed the air so unnaturally and intensely within a confined zone—compressing it thousands of times over—it followed that the Natural Energy present in that air was also being compressed thousands of times. Usually, Natural Energy is spread thin throughout the atmosphere, existing in a low concentration that is difficult to detect. But when condensed thousands of times? It becomes concentrated, dense, and vivid. It becomes relatively easy to sense.
This allowed Dan, despite lacking an innate gift, to feel it with relative ease and study it directly. Furthermore, it seemed that the more he felt this Natural Energy during his sessions—the more he focused on sensing it while under the pressure—the more his natural capacity to perceive it grew. It was as if a new sense was slowly evolving within him, growing stronger with every passing day.
In the beginning, he could only feel it during peak compression when the air turned to "oil." But now, after weeks of consistent training and conscious focus, a change had occurred. Even after concluding his training and deactivating the Depth Seal, as the pressure returned to normal, he found he could still pick up the traces of Natural Energy in the ordinary air around him. While it wasn't as vivid or clear as it was during the compression—requiring much more effort to detect—it was there. It was palpable. He could feel it if he focused.
This was a massive leap forward. A monumental step.
He also observed another fascinating detail: even after releasing the stored energy and the compressed air, the concentrated Natural Energy did not dissipate immediately or entirely. It remained relatively dense in the training zone for a long duration—hours at first, and eventually days as the process was repeated. It leaked away slowly, spreading gradually, but it did not vanish quickly. It was as if the region itself was becoming "saturated" with concentrated Natural Energy.
This discovery ignited his enthusiasm to study this mysterious power with even greater seriousness. He now possessed:
A relatively easy method to access high concentrations of it via the Depth Seal.
A location that was consistently saturated with it—the training zone itself.
A growing ability to sense it, which improved over time.
He had everything he needed to begin serious research. Moreover, he began to suspect an exciting possibility: if he continued his intense training in this specific area using the Depth Seal for a long period—years, or perhaps decades—he might unintentionally create a massive, dense vortex of Natural Energy in this spot. Every day, he condensed the energy, pressed it, and released it, but a portion always remained. It would accumulate. Layer upon layer. Year after year.
Eventually, the entire region could become permanently saturated with a staggering concentration of Natural Energy. This could mean something incredible: he might, without prior planning, create a sanctuary identical to the three known Great Sage Regions of this world—the legendary Mount Myoboku (Land of Toads), Ryuchi Cave (Land of Snakes), and Shikkotsu Forest (Land of Slugs). These were the only places where one could learn Sage Transformation and master Senjutsu.
Dan might be in the process of creating a fourth. A new sacred land belonging to his family, under his total control. A perfect place to train his descendants in the ways of the Sage in the future. A source of overwhelming power and a massive strategic advantage.
Of course, this was merely a possibility—not a certainty. It might happen, or it might not. It would require a vast amount of time to verify. But the mere prospect was exhilarating and well worth the pursuit. Consequently, he decided to continue training in that exact location without change. He would observe. He would measure. He would study where this path led.
Perhaps in a decade or two, he would possess his own sacred ground—a place of gathered, immense Natural Energy. A foundation to elevate his family's power to even greater heights. Another step toward the ultimate goal.
Survival. Power. Immortality.
