Chapter 201 - Chapter 201: The Future Throne

"So, how is the kingdom administration plan progressing?"

Dan asked as he looked at his son Sato, who resembled him so closely in appearance and bearing that they looked almost like twins.

He paid particular attention to this matter because the kingdom they had built served as the family's public face and its primary tool for interacting with the outside world.

Sato replied in his usual calm and organized manner.

"It is progressing well, Father."

"Then it would be best if you tried to speed it up a little, because you need to return to the family and enter a period of training. Your strength has fallen behind that of your siblings."

Although Sato's power, by the standards of this world as a whole, was considered legendary and approached the level of the Six Paths, compared to his siblings of the same generation and those close to it, he had fallen noticeably behind.

The Walt Family was constantly growing and advancing, and the standards by which strength was measured within the family continued to rise. Someone who was considered exceptionally powerful in one era could become merely average a decade later if they did not continue progressing at the same pace as their siblings.

Dan continued in a more detailed tone.

"Also, after I finish several matters, I intend to step away from managing the family's affairs. I need to focus on research and training, both of which may require many years. Therefore, I also need you to prepare yourself to manage the family."

Sato replied steadily.

"Understood, Father."

He fell silent for a moment in thought before continuing.

"At present, the king of the kingdom is Ayato's son, but he is not particularly capable. His son, whom we selected to be trained through the Orphan Program, has matured greatly over the past years, and I intend to make him king in the near future so that I can free myself from the kingdom's affairs and return to the family headquarters."

After a brief pause, Dan replied as though recalling the details of that particular grandson.

"So, how is this grandson? Is he suitable for what we need?"

Sato answered.

"Yes, Father. He is a good child, intelligent and strong."

Then Yuta spoke from the side with a teasing tone.

"Heh, are you exaggerating your praise because he's your son-in-law?"

Everyone in the room laughed, including Dan himself, who allowed a faint smile to appear on his face.

Then he continued.

"Then finish these matters as soon as possible and return."

Sato nodded.

"Yes, Father. Once this boy's wedding to that little troublemaker is over, I'll prepare the circumstances necessary for him to inherit the throne. His father is also ready to step down for his sake."

In truth, this entire plan had been designed by Dan from the very beginning.

He wanted to create a strong and stable foundation for the Blue Dragon Kingdom, one that would not depend on Sato's permanent presence. After all, Sato could not remain there forever; he had greater responsibilities awaiting him within the family.

In reality, all the years Sato had spent governing the kingdom since its founding . as Prime Minister and the kingdom's true ruler . had been a training period for him just as much as they had been a service to the kingdom itself.

It was practical experience in governance: managing a kingdom with all its complexities, including internal politics, foreign relations, budgets, economics, security, and law.

From the very beginning, Dan had planned to eventually place the administration of the entire family into Sato's hands so that he himself could dedicate his time to research and personal training, both of which demanded increasing amounts of attention and focus.

For that reason, the grandson of Ayato the first king had been selected and trained from childhood within the family's Orphan Program, carefully refined and educated so that he would become capable of carrying the burden of rulership effectively.

In fact, Dan had decided that every future king after this grandson would undergo the same process: training from childhood within the Orphan Program at the family base, followed by years of refinement and preparation before ascending the throne. In this way, the process would become a permanent institution.

Furthermore, this young king would marry Sato's daughter. That meant his descendants would carry Dan's blood through that union.

As a result, those descendants would also be raised and refined within the family from an early age, and all future monarchs would come from this lineage, choosing their spouses from the Walt Family as well in every generation to come.

And Dan would fulfill his promise to Ayato exactly as originally intended . that his descendants would continue ruling the kingdom through the generations . And that promise did not prevent those same descendants from also becoming Dan's descendants through repeated marriages between the two bloodlines.

This clever arrangement achieved two objectives at the same time: honoring his promise to Ayato while ensuring that the throne would always remain under the direct and organic influence of the Walt Family.

There was no contradiction between the two goals.

After all, no ruler who carried the family's blood in their veins could ever stray too far from the interests of the family that had shaped them and whose legacy they inherited.
