Chapter 274 - Chapter 274: Rage

"Die, you insect."

A rough, deep roar shook the entire mountainous region, the voice of a colossal being bellowing with every ounce of strength and fury in its body. An instant later, it was followed by a tremendous explosion.

BOOOOOOOOM!

A figure was sent flying through the air after being struck by the enormous golden club or rather, it would be more accurate to call it a massive pillar.

BOOOOOM!

The launched figure crashed into a mountain with overwhelming force, causing the entire mountain to collapse. Massive boulders tumbled down, rocks were blasted into the air, and thick clouds of dust engulfed the surroundings, revealing the true destructive power contained within that single blow.

On the opposite side of the battlefield stood the gigantic gray giant, unmoving. Four arms, one of them gripping the immense golden pillar, while four pillar-like legs remained firmly planted on the ground. His colossal gray body was covered in countless wounds, blue blood flowing freely from each of them.

He stared at the collapsed mountain with fury and concentration. Yet deep beneath that anger, hidden within the folds of his emotions, he sincerely hoped that this final strike had accomplished what he desired that it had finally ended the life of that madwoman.

His hopes did not last long.

From within the rubble and dense dust, a crimson and pitch-black aura erupted, tearing through the dust from the inside and illuminating everything around it with a color that promised nothing good for whoever stood against it.

Whoosh!

Another razor-sharp slash shot toward him.

"You insect!"

the giant roared as he dodged with a speed utterly unsuited to a creature of his immense size, barely saving himself from a strike that would have been catastrophic had it connected. The slash continued past him, cleaving through the entire mountain range behind him.

Then, amidst the thick dust rising from the shattered mountain, a figure gradually became visible.

Sophia stood there, the crimson aura still pulsing around her. At the same time, a green healing aura enveloped her body, tirelessly repairing the devastating damage left by the tremendous blow she had just endured. Her eyes remained fixed on the giant before her with the same cold focus she had maintained since the battle began.

"I'll make sure to torture you thoroughly, you insect. Just wait."

The giant glared at her, rage exploding from his voice. Yet mixed within that fury was something King of Dusk had never experienced throughout his countless battles over the course of his long life.

Fear.

The feeling of fear grew even stronger the moment he saw Sophia rise from the rubble. Ever since the battle had begun, she had endured his blows and risen again. Every single time, she returned to the fight wrapped in that deadly crimson aura, carving new wounds into his body.

And just when it had seemed that everything was over and that the final strike had surely killed her there she stood once again before him, the crimson and green auras pulsing together around her in two different rhythms.

The fear rising inside him was the fear of the unknown.
