Ray POV
"Whatever you have in mind, Sir. I hope it doesn't involve taking someone's life. I am an ex-military soldier, not an ex-assassin," Troy said before I could even give him an assignment. "Besides, you're involved in this case between two sisters, Sir. If you kill Clarissa Reed, you'll be one of the suspects."
"I am not a fool, Troy," I reprimanded him. Though, if I had to be honest, that thought of ending Clarissa's life did cross my mind once.
I just found it easier to kill that woman than play the long game, and that urge only heightened once I saw the conspicuous bandage on Claudia's shoulder.
All I wanted from Claudia was her regret and despair, not physical pain. She shouldn't get hurt; even a scratch shouldn't be visible in front of me.
However, Troy pulled me back to reality. It would only create a bigger problem if Clarissa died when all eyes were on Claudia right now.
