Chapter 1 - ~°~°1 - The Break Up°~°~

Jungkook was sitting on the plush couch in his balcony, his eyes fixed on the setting sun outside his penthouse. The day seemed to drag out slower than he had been expecting. It was another break up. Another girl after his money. He was exhausted at this point. Dating had started to feel like experiments. Experiments that eventually failed everytime.

He didn't turn when he heard a key turn or when the door opened. The only voice which didn't feel like an experiment came with the door closing again.

"Well, should I give you another lecture on 'I told you so'"? Eunha's voice blurred the silence that had been consuming him seconds ago and a soft clink of something being placed on the coffee table.

She noticed his gaze, distant and defeated. She sighed as she walked over and sat down beside him. "Lena was a bad call. But I guess. Experience makes you learn. A sign you should listen to my advice."

Jungkook looked at her, his distant expression softening slightly, "Are you here to comfort me Or give a very sarcastic speech on you know the best?"

Eunha smiled, "Both actually. And since I know you have a very annoying habit of loosing your appetite after these break ups. I brought you Kimchi Jighae."

A small smile breaks on his lips, "Let me guess, I don't get to say no?"

She shook her head, "Nope. You don't." She stood up pulling him to his feet with her as they walk back inside the spacious living room and sit on the couch. Eunha takes the box slowly opening it as spices and fresh aroma of the food fills in the air. She hands him the chopsticks.

Eunha watches him eat. The silence that follows is a comfortable one. Occasional sounds of the soup being slurrped and of their breathing.

The sun had set completely now, the darkness illuminating with stars and the city lights of Seoul.

Jungkook finished eating, leaning back against the back of the couch, "Your cooking seems to work everytime." His voice was less defeated now. But some of the tension was still there on his shoulders.

"Well, we could go for a walk the weather is apparently pretty nice today," she suggested.

"Not a bad idea. I could use some air."

Jungkook stood up heading towards the dinning as he grabbed a jacket that was draped over the back of the chair. Eunha stood up as she followed him out the door.

---

The park was mostly filled with couples walking or sitting on the benches, some children near the rides and a few people with pets near the fountain. Eunha and Jungkook walked in silence. The breeze did help. Jungkook felt clearer. His features slowly letting go of the earlier tension.

Jungkook broke the silence, "You know Euni, you being here makes it easy. And I don't even know how you do it."

Eunha looks at him then at the fountain as they continue to walk, "I don't even know myself. Maybe I just know you too well. Or you're just too annoyingly predictable."

He chuckles, a genuine one in the entire day, "True. But not true either. I am not predictable. Not to just anyone. You're the one who reads me like an open book. Let's not forget, same goes for you. You do that pout when you're in deep thought kind of thing."

Eunha rolls her eyes, "Yeah yeah."

Jungkook smiles. They continue to walk in silence. Eunha looks at him. She doesn't know what this is. But being seen by him doesn't feel like a bad thing. It never actually did.

Eunha glanced around spotting an ice cream truck. "How about some ice cream?"

Jungkook nodded at the suggestion, they walk towards it. "Let me guess, you want that green toothpaste."

Eunha playfully glares at him, "Mint Chocolate chip."

Jungkook smirks slightly, "Yeah. Toothpaste."

He places the order to the man in the truck. They watch as the man scoops out a scoop of Mint Chocolate chip on one cone and classic Vanilla on the other. Hyunjin takes the cones, handing Eunha her flavour.

They eat the ice cream for a while. When Jungkook says, "I can't believe summer break is already over. Can you believe it? Final year of high school. Feels weird even to say aloud."

Eunha nods, "True. But see the bright side of it. Still a year left to make lots of memories."

Jungkook nods. "Hey, you've got something there." He grins as he points at her face.

Eunha raises an eyebrow, "Where?"

"The nose. No. The other side."

Jungkook steps closer, and Eunha freezes when he he reaches out to wipe the ice cream with his thumb on her nose. The sudden closes makes Eunha's heart do something very unfamiliar. They've always been close. What was that thing happening inside her?

He steps back, "There. Gone."

Eunha clears her throat, "Thanks. Let's go. I have a very strict curfew might I remind you."

He grins, "Yeah I know. Cmon. I'll walk you."

This. Whatever this was. Wasn't right. That's Eunha's head screaming at her when they walk. But the way she was trying to hide behind her hair. Her heart seemed to have different plans entirely.
