Lin Yue nodded slowly. "Why did you not go to Uriel?"
Mira laughed, a sad, dry sound. "His Majesty was never here. He came once a year, sometimes less. When he was here, he was busy with military matters, with the council. I could not get five minutes alone with him."
She picked up her cup again.
"I hoped someone would come. Someone who was not afraid. Someone who would ask the right questions. And you did."
Lin Yue shook her head, she couldn't accept the credit given. After all, if it wasn't her mission to catch the culprit, or the reward that came with it.
She would never have placed so much effort.
She wasn't that good of a person.
Still she was glad Mira wasn't hurt or fired in the process.
"Uriel promised to compensate you all. You'll get your back pay soon."
Mira smiled and patted Lin Yue's hands. "You're a lovely girl, madam. Thank you."
Lin Yue smiled and nodded, she looked around and noticed Mira was the only one present.
"Where's the others?"
