"Putanginaaaa! This country is screwed with the kind of government we have!" a bloodied soldier said while crouching inside the cornfield.
He was firing his M14 in different directions. Grenades were being thrown when they heard gunfire nearby.
"Stay calm! Keep firing! We don't know where the enemy is," another soldier said.
"Damn it! Where's the backup?! 20 of us were dead before we even moved to the mission spot," a soldier exclaimed.
"Don't you get it? We're at the end of our rope. We can't communicate for backup. We were ambushed before the mission even started," a calm voice interrupted the panicked voices.
"What are you saying, Dave?! Why are you so calm in this situation?" another soldier asked.
Dave kept firing his gun left and right, even though he couldn't see anything but a sea of corn plants blocking his view.
"What's the point of panicking anyway? Aren't you prepared to die when you join the military? Though I hate to die like this, at least I'll send these rebels to the afterlife," Dave said.
"We are abandoned. The president gave us this mission but only for show. Everywhere is an enemy ready to kill. Dying this way is cruel to us soldiers, but at least take a terrorist with you," he added while firing his M14 randomly.
'Training to kill, but right now, I can't even see where the enemy is with these damn tall corn plants!" he cursed.
Hearing Dave, the other soldiers grew determined. They couldn't change their fate, it was better to kill more before they die.
It didn't take long for the terrorists to kill the soldiers.
"F*** this SAF! They're trained to kill. We surrounded them, but they still took out 123 of our men," a soldier cursed.
"They are SAF for a reason. Let's go, gather their guns. It's a waste to leave them here," he ordered as they started collecting weapons.
"Oh, look, someone still intact. I'll take your dog tags as a souvenir," a voice said. As he reached to pull Dave's tag, Dave smirked sinisterly.
"Adios, f***er," he said as he opened his vest containing several grenades. As he pulled the vest, the clip was also dislodged.
"RUN!!!"

In an instant, the SAF commander and the leader of the New People's Army were killed in the blast.
News of the encounter spread, and people began questioning the government about why the president abandoned the soldiers.
Many voiced their opinions, but as usual, a corrupt third-world country diverted attention, creating another issue to cover up the soldiers' downfall.
They honored them with disgrace, they sentenced them to death, they sacrifice their lives for greedy rulers.
They want to serve their country, but human greed's cruelty is unstoppable. As the saying goes, when money talks, everybody listens.

"Where?" was the first thing he said
"Hmm? Is this afterlife?"
"Not really, it's my domain young man" A calm and ancient voice sounded
Dave turned around to look, what he saw was a simple old man with a stick in his hand "What domain? I remember i died because of the explosion"
The strange thing about the old man was that he was floating. They are both floating in the void
But he didn't panic or anything, it's like a normal thing to happen
"Your physical body dies, but not your soul. You were drifting here for quite some time now." the old man calmly said as he walked toward Dave
"Is that so? What now then? I already accept the fact that I'm already dead" Dave said without regret. That's the kind of person he was, when he had already come to terms with his decision, there's no going back anymore
"Is that so? Come to think of it, that's the kind of person you are, that's also the reason i got interested in you. Say, don't you want power and to live freely?" The old man chuckled and became serious
"Are you giving me a chance like those isekai? You should have just said it, your agent was the grenades right?" Dave laughed at his own joke
"Truck-kun was busy chasing another victim, that's why. Anyway, i can give you 5 wishes" the old man said
"Really? Another life is good. I didn't enjoy my previous life because of poverty and after graduating, I began my training as a soldier. I accept" Dave said
"So what do you wish for?" the Oldman asked
"Will i need to choose my world or do I need to use my wish to choose?" Dave said
"Don't worry, you can choose it without using your wish."
"That will be great. I was worried for no reason. Okay I'm ready old man"
"Go on"
"First, i want a system that has all and not a system that will slave me. If i want a mission, i will ask it to generate a mission"
"Oh? So you don't want the system that pushes you to do something that you don't want? Granted"
"2nd, i want to have peak comprehension"

"Don't know. I heard it and I want it that's only the reason. Are you against it?" the woman who was lying in the bed said
"Nyx Cromwell. That is a good name" the middle-aged man replied with a forced smile
And just like that, Nyx Cromwell was born again in this world.
Nyx who was being born earlier was well aware of the situation he was in. He pretends to cry to avoid being slapped just to make him cry
Because he was still a newborn, he quickly fell asleep. He doesn't know how his life would be but he was excited nonetheless

By the age of 4, Nyx started attending school like a normal child. But the school was not normal because of his family background
His father was the owner of a big company that dealt with healthcare and insurance. He monopolizes the majority of the USA insurance because of its easy claims insurance
Unlike those other companies that will make you curse because of how they find loopholes to not pay
His father was an American but his mother was a Filipina. Nyx has a brother and a sister who always play with him even though he does not want to
He always complains about this in himself only because he was the only one who knew his circumstances
Acting like a child while your mind is not. It was torture he needed to endure.

Nyx stood still while his mouth was open in shock. He does not know if this system is deliberately playing dumb or what
'Ah, never mind! So what is this nameless weapon?'

'Want to fight?! I know it's nameless, I'm asking what it can do or any special ability' Nyx said helplessly. He regretted joking with this brain-dead system

'Nice! How about world travel? and this phoenix bloodline?'

You are unkillable and can control flames as you wish, you can also use your flame to heal all kinds of wounds and illnesses. "What do you want to talk about, Nyx?" Dad was sitting comfortably in the chair
"Yes honey, what's wrong?" Mom was slightly worried
"Did someone bully you?" my sister asked
"Just say it little Nyx, we will punch them together" his brother said while hammering his fist
"Not really. I'm here to tell you a secret that i have. I became an apostle" i said.
"What's that?" Dad asked
"God tasked me to travel to a different world"
"I thought it was serious, you just watch too many cartoons" my brother said and laughed together with my family. They thought I was joking
I extend my hand and produce flame "I'm not joking. I have the ability to control flames, it was a blessing from God."
They stared at the flame with shock. My brother dumbly extended his hand to touch it
"Ouch!!! It's burning" he rolled down with a painful expression. My mother and dad rushed to his side
"Why are you being reckless?! Luna go get iced" Dad said and asked Luna
"Okay," Luna ran. It didn't take long for him to return but Zion's hands were already burned. Phoenix flame was not a normal flame it's a good thing that Nyx withdrew it faster
"Nyx, what is that flame? Your brother just touched it for a brief moment but it has already been burned." Dad asked with concern
"Let's go to the hospital" Mom said
Before Dad could carry Zion, Nyx stopped them
"No need for that. Let me heal you, Zion"
Nyx produces a flame again and gently taps it on Zion's hands.
Dad wanted to stop him but his mother signaled him to stop.
"Let him. It's already burned, waiting for a sec won't change anything" Mom said with a nervous voice
Once the flame that Nyx summoned this time touched Zion's skin, the burnt skin slowly became normal again, Zion didn't feel any more pain
"It's gone? I don't feel anything anymore" Zion examined his hands and said
"Nyx explain properly what's truly going on. How can you be an apostle" " Mom asked. He starts believing what Nyx said earlier, not only her, but the entire family also starts believing
"God bestowed upon me a power. He said that he wanted me to be his apostle, i don't need to do anything or endanger my life. I can visit a different world to conquer or just to have fun" i said
"But, why did he choose you? And to be given something and do nothing is really unreal Nyx" Dad said seriously
"Dad, we are talking about god. I don't even have something to offer or do anything. He said that he was bored and sometimes chose a human or another species to roam the multiverse"
"I can live forever and so can you. I don't want to live alone without you guys. I tell you this because god bestowed upon me the power of a phoenix. Even if i was hit with nuclear, i can heal in an instant"
Nyx specifically said about him being unkillable and he can choose whether he wants to travel or not.
"So that's the reason you are physically strong. Your built also started showing compact muscles, is that also the benefit of phoenix power?" Dad asked
"Hey Nyx, can you give me power?" Zion asked
"Can you give me talent to sing? I want to be a singer" Luna follow-up
"My physique was unique, Dad. The god said that when i turn 18, my physical power will fully manifest. You know Captain America? I'm much much stronger and my speed will be unreal. I can't grasp it cause I'm not yet there"
"As for powers, i can give you but not yet. I need to visit a different world for that"
