(MASON'S POV)
The doorbell rang like a long rope dropped into the heart of a very deep pit and I was standing at the bottom.
Relief washed over me so fast and so strong that my whole body sagged against Blue's chest before I could stop it. 'Oh thank God.' This was it — my perfect, unexpected escape from the warm, terrifying cocoon of his lap, from the way my body had completely betrayed me, from the humiliating erection still pressing insistently against the front of my joggers under the blanket.
I turned my head to look up at him, ready to say something casual like "Someone's at the door," in case he hadn't heard it over the soft hum of the movie. But the words died on my tongue the moment our eyes met.
