(BLUE'S POV)
My parents faces were etched with worry, their eyes scanning the gathered crowd of friends and family with barely concealed alarm.
"Blue!" my mother called out, her voice carrying across the garden. "What's going on? Is everything alright?"
She reached us, breathless, her hand pressed against her chest.
"We heard that everyone had gathered here in the garden," my father added, his Alpha voice cutting through the murmurs. "People were saying there was some kind of emergency. What happened?"
I stepped forward, placing a calming hand on my mother's shoulder.
"Everything's fine, Mom," I said, forcing a reassuring smile. "Nothing's wrong."
"Then why is everyone here?" my mother asked, her eyes sweeping across the gathered crowd with the sharp, knowing gaze that had always seen through every lie.
I scrambled for an explanation.
