The second gift was a neatly tied stack of books that Sylvar took from the pile.
They contained medical knowledge related to silk-thread treatment techniques.
Sylvar smiled and said,
"Then, the second lucky audience member is Sister Vanessa. This is a technique for healing injuries using silk threads. I hope Sister Vanessa can make good use of it."
Vanessa asked doubtfully,
"What's this supposed to be used for?"
Sylvar replied,
"You can use silk threads to heal others. Black Bulls currently don't have a dedicated support member proficient in healing magic. This is one of the squad's weaknesses."
Vanessa leaned closer and said teasingly,
"So you care about me that much, little brother? Are you trying to make something happen tonight?"
Sylvar ignored her completely.
Vanessa sighed in a coquettish tone,
"How cold~"
After that, Sylvar walked back to the pile of gifts again.
This time, he pulled out several heavy iron rings and a thick iron vest.
He said,
"The third lucky audience member is Asta. This is weight-bearing training equipment. As long as you wear it during training, eating, and sleeping, you'll experience a significant improvement once you take it off during combat."
Asta's eyes sparkled.
"That's so cool!"
He immediately put it on.
"Don't put it on now," Sylvar said. "You won't be able to eat properly later."
However—
After seeing Asta moving freely even after putting it on,Sylvar silently shut his mouth.
That body was truly monstrous.
Nearly two hundred kilograms of counterweight, and he was still moving like nothing happened.
I'm just a normal human. I really can't compare.
Asta looked down at the weight-bearing equipment on his body with shining eyes, clearly extremely satisfied.
Next, Sylvar picked up another book from the pile.
This time, there was only one.
After flipping through it briefly, he handed it to Noelle.
He didn't say much this time.
It was about the principle of water jet cutting, so he decided to let Noelle figure it out herself.
After that, Sylvar pulled out a science book.
This one described the relationship between electricity and magnetism.
He handed it to Luck.
Luck grinned brightly.
"Let's fight."
Cold sweat immediately appeared on Sylvar's forehead.
"Let's… forget it. I have some very heavy training planned recently."
Then he walked back to the pile again, took out another book, and glanced at it.
It was a [Holy Book] guide on how to pick up girls.
He directly handed it to Finral.
After just one glance, Finral immediately hid the sacred book as if his life depended on it, making sure no one else could see it.
Next, Sylvar picked up another book.
This one was about mirror imaging principles of convex mirrors.
He handed it to Gauche.
Then he picked up another book, which discussed the relationship between poison and medicine, and handed it to the panda-faced senior, Gordon.
After that, he picked up a book related to fire manipulation.
He gave it to Magna.
Then it was Gray's turn.
Sylvar handed Gray a smiling mask.
After that, he said gently,
"Change back to your original form, Gray. We're all friends here, right?"
Gray was still puffing out smoke and didn't respond verbally—he just puffed even harder.
Sylvar smiled warmly and continued,
"If you're shy, then wear this smiling mask. That way, no one will know your face. We're all companions and family here. There won't be any problems."
As soon as those words fell—
Gray seemed to agree.
He took the smiling mask, put it on his huge face, and then—
Puff.
White smoke burst out.
When the smoke dispersed, Gray returned to his original appearance—a blue-haired girl.
Everyone present instantly had the same question in their minds.
"Who is this?"
Even Gray herself, now wearing the mask, covered her face again and said shyly,
"Don't look… I'm so embarrassed…"
At that moment—
Suddenly, from the toilet, Captain Yami shouted loudly,
"This feels so damn good—ahhh!"
The sound shook the entire base.
Then Captain Yami walked out of the toilet with a satisfied smile on his face.
He glanced toward the banquet area.
He noticed the stunned expressions of the squad members.
Then he followed their gaze.
Standing there was a girl wearing a white smiling mask, with blue hair, and a Black Bull cloak.
After seeing her, the captain said something that shocked everyone.
"Who is this? Wearing our Black Bull cloak, a weird mask, and showing up at our banquet—aren't you being a bit arrogant?"
At this moment, everyone finally spoke out at once.
They couldn't hold it in anymore.
"This is the member you recruited yourself—Gray! You seriously don't recognize her?!"
Captain Yami looked around.
He didn't see the smoking figure anymore.
He asked in disbelief,
"…Is that really true?"
After the gifts were distributed, Gauche spoke up.
"These things you brought don't seem like they're from this world at all. For example, the craftsmanship and patterns in these books—none of this exists here."
With food still stuffed in her mouth, Charmy said,
"These are recipes and ingredients from another world. They're extremely rare new dishes. They're delicious! Come eat!"
At this moment, Magna and Vanessa both frowned and said at the same time,
"This is his secret. Don't ask too much."
At that point, Sylvar spoke.
"Just like Senior Gauche and Senior Charmy said—these books, materials, and gifts are all from another world."
…Eh?!
Everyone was shocked.
This kind of secret—he just said it out loud like that?!
Are you kidding us?!
Amid everyone's shock, Sylvar continued calmly,
"I have an innate magic. It was the very first magic that appeared in my grimoire the day I received it."
"It's magic that allows me to travel to another world."
After saying that—
Sylvar deliberately paused, giving everyone time to process.
…Eh?!
Everyone screamed internally.
Is it really okay to say something this important so casually?!
"What?! Is that true or not?! Seriously?!"
Sylvar quickly waved his hands.
"Don't interrupt me. Let me finish."
He thought to himself—
If you keep interrupting, how am I supposed to explain this properly?
"This otherworld-travel magic is connected to me through my grimoire. I understand its function and can travel to other worlds."
"Of course, it sounds powerful—but in reality, it has many limitations."
"First: this magic can only transport one person."
"Second: it consumes an extremely large amount of mana—probably more than one hundred times my normal capacity."
"Third: after traveling to another world, I can only stay there for ten days before being forcibly pulled back by magic. Of course, based on my observations, if I have enough mana, I may be able to stay longer."
"Fourth: I cannot bring items back directly with my hands. Everything I brought back was sealed inside my grimoire and became part of me. That's why I can retrieve them."
"Fifth: the situation in the other world is completely unknown. It's entirely possible that I could be captured or killed by a powerful enemy the moment I arrive."
"So traveling to another world is extremely dangerous—but also exciting and special."
Asta shouted excitedly,
"That's awesome! I wanna go to other worlds too!"
Magna also looked tempted.
"When the time comes, I wanna go as well."
Sylvar shook his head.
"That's impossible for now. Maybe in the future, I'll find a way to bring others."
"Now—here's the real point."
"For my previous trip, I had to accumulate nearly half a year of my own magic power just to exchange for that single journey."
"So you understand, right?"
Everyone looked confused.
What is he talking about?
Seeing their expressions, Sylvar could only explain further.
"Alright, I'll be blunt."
"If I rely solely on my own magic power to accumulate enough energy for another trip, with my current level, it will take at least one year."
"Of course, that's because I'm a Black Bull. I still have to go on missions, clean the base, eat, and sleep."
"So… you get it now."
Everyone spoke in unison,
"So… what exactly are we supposed to understand?"
Sylvar froze for a moment, then suddenly realized.
"Oh—so you didn't understand."
"What I mean is this."
"I want to turn your magic power into nourishment for this spell."
"In other words, whenever you have spare magic power each day, you can let me seal it."
"I'll use sealing magic to store your magic power into this spell."
"That way, with all of us together, we'll have enough magic power to travel to another world in just a few days."
Everyone nodded in unison.
"Ohhh—so that's how it works."
Sylvar smiled confidently.
"Then, Senior Finral—let's start with you."
Finral said sadly,
"All my magic power is used for transportation. I really don't have much left."
Sylvar leaned close to Finral's ear and whispered,
"Different worlds… different ways of picking up girls."
Finral's eyes lit up instantly.
"Then… I can probably spare enough for two or three more spatial spells."
After Finral agreed, Sylvar opened his grimoire to a blank page and had Finral pour his magic power into it.
Next—
Sylvar walked over to Magna.
"Senior Magna, please express your gratitude."
Without saying a word, Magna transferred a small amount of magic power.
Sylvar stared at the tiny amount and asked in disbelief,
"What's going on?"
Magna grinned smugly.
"Henry just sucked most of it away."
"Damn it! What rotten luck!"
Next, Sylvar walked over to Gray.
"We're partners, right? Please give me your magic power, Gray-senpai."
This time, Gray didn't cover her face—since it was already hidden by the mask.
She reached out and placed her hand on Sylvar's grimoire.
Her magic power was guided by Sylvar's telepathic sealing technique and stored inside the book.
Next was Vanessa.
"Senior Vanessa, there are many century-aged fine wines in the other world. You understand, right?"
Vanessa's eyes lit up instantly.
"Then hurry up and go! Bring back more century-old wine for me!"
As she spoke, she placed her hand on the grimoire and transferred her magic power.
Next was Luck.
"Senior, if you give me your magic power, then we can fight again in a few months."
Luck grinned.
"Deal."
Magic power flowed in.
Next came Gordon.
Sylvar simply opened the book and placed it in front of him.
"We're all partners."
Gordon silently poured his magic power into the book.
Then came Gauche.
He only contributed about fifty percent and explained,
"I need the rest to communicate with Marie."
Charmy only gave seventy percent, since her sheep chef was still cooking.
Then Sylvar walked over—
And stopped in front of Asta.
He looked at him for a moment.
Then he directly ignored him.
After all, this guy didn't have any magic power at all.
Next was Noelle.
Sylvar said,
"Give me your magic power, and I'll help you with something."
Noelle crossed her arms proudly.
"I'm royalty. Why would I need your help?"
Sylvar replied calmly,
"I can help you control your magic power."
Noelle's eyes widened.
"What? You can do that? How is that even possible?"
Sylvar explained,
"The reason you can't control your magic power is because it's too vast."
"Excessive magic power makes precise control extremely difficult."
"To put it simply, I can solve this by sealing ninety percent of your magic power."
"You'll only be able to use one layer to train."
"In that state, your control will improve dramatically."
Noelle hesitated, then nodded.
"…Okay."
She gave ninety percent of her magic power.
Sylvar controlled his chains, wrapping them around one of Noelle's hands, and placed a one-way seal on her magic outlet.
Nine-tenths of the outlet was blocked.
Only one-tenth remained.
Noelle tried forming a water ball.
It floated steadily—perfectly controlled.
Seeing this, Sylvar knew his theory was correct.
Finally—
It was time for the heavyweight.
Captain Yami.
Looking at the muscular captain, Sylvar swallowed nervously.
He tightened his facial muscles, made his expression serious, and said,
"Captain Yami. Please. I need your magic power."
Yami replied coldly,
"Do you want to die?"
Sylvar didn't dare answer that directly.
"If I answer, I'll probably get beaten."
So he said instead,
"Different worlds have different medicines for treating constipation. Once I finish using them, they'll be gone."
Yami's eyes narrowed.
"Are you threatening me? Go to hell."
The moment he finished speaking, he grabbed Sylvar's head with one hand, trying to crush it.
Pain surged through Sylvar's skull.
He panicked slightly and shouted,
"Captain Yami! I didn't say anything threatening!"
Yami clicked his tongue.
"What a pain."
Then he reached out and placed his hand on Sylvar's grimoire.
In an instant—
The magic power inside the book surged explosively.
It was terrifying.
Captain Yami's magic power alone felt like it could replace the entire squad.
…Almost.
Excluding the total magic power of the royal family.
And excluding Noelle.
