I let out a bitter, humourless laugh.
Alexander simply looked at me as though I'd suddenly gone mad.
"Seriously, Alexander?"
"I'm only doing what's best for Aimy."
"And what makes you think you have the right to decide that for her?"
"Alicia..."
"Yes, you're her father."
"But what do you even know about her?"
"What makes you think you can just come back into our lives and start making decisions for us?"
The words left my mouth before I could stop them.
For the briefest moment, I saw the hurt flash across Alexander's face.
Then, just as quickly, it disappeared behind the cold, unreadable expression he always wore.
But I didn't care.
There were plenty of places where Aimy could receive treatment.
It didn't have to be Velaridge City.
If he thought he could use this opportunity to take my daughter away from me...
