Chapter 2 - PLANET MASTER

"It seems the governor's Envoy is here," the principal said to Silas and Amelia as he told the person to enter.

Sure enough, adorned in a black suit was a man with nicely styled black hair and a calm demeanor.

He walked into the office, bowing to the headmaster.

"Master Aldren, the governor asked me to come pick up the students," the person said.

"They are the ones," Aldren pointed from his seat.

Silas and Amelia stood up, not wasting time.

"Goodbye, headmaster," they said together as if they had practiced what they wanted to say before.

"Yeah, I will see you before you leave for the University. I have too many things to attend to now."

Silas nodded. He also understood, so he did not stress him.

Walking through the academy with the envoy leading, they soon reached the academy's garage.

"Silas, how do you feel about this?" Amelia asked silently.

Silas looked at her for a while before looking away. "I don't know," he replied calmly.

She did not reply for a while.

Then she nodded. "Me too."

The simple question made them lost in thought till they reached the car.

Maneuvering his way through the garage, they drove off, speeding through the academy till they left the gates.

The outside world was vibrant. Cars sped through the road, and people buzzed around, either working or playing.

Buildings that looked unreal were built all around, from ones that seemed to become wider the higher they went, to ones that outright floated in the sky.

Silas was indifferent about this; he only stared outside the window, his gaze drifting far.

'How did I awaken an SSS-tier talent?' He wondered. But that did not bother him as much as the other thing that he felt upon awakening.

He scanned through his mind, which seemed to have become more like an arranged library.

Everything in his mind was arranged orderly, from a section that clearly detailed things from sword knowledge to scientific knowledge.

Even under these sections, there were categories like life sciences, matter science, and under categories, further subdivided into further categories.

Even he did not seem to be able to search through it all. He only knew that if he wanted to remember something, he could just think about it and all his knowledge about it would surface in an orderly manner.

"We have arrived at the Governor's Mansion," the envoy said, cutting Silas from his thought.

'That was quick,' he thought as he got down from the vehicle.

They were parked in an underground garage. Dark but lit enough for them to see where they were going.

Under the guidance of the envoy, they exited the place and arrived above the ground.

The compound was huge, easily reaching over a thousand kilometers, and that was just at a glance.

The entire place was occupied by buildings that looked more like infrastructure for officials.

From scientific labs that were elegantly built, to a single military camp that was devoid of anyone.

"That should be the base camp of the Veritas Corps," Amelia pointed at the camp.

Everyone in Veritas knew of the significance and power of the corps. From stopping crimes to ensuring safety against villains, they were the most revered establishment on the planet.

Silas nodded. "It is huge," he replied.

Amelia nodded frantically in response.

Their eyes drifted back and forth as they identified major institutions with their base here.

Soon, they entered the door.

A Living Room that looked more like the throne room of a king.

A single, golden chair was planted into the ground at the far end. Several sofas, each one of undisputed quality, were placed opposite each other as they lined the path to the throne.

The room was painted with a silver coating. The ceiling was pure white with a chandelier whose light illuminated everywhere with its golden radiance.

"The maids will take you to the Governor from here," the envoy said, walking back outside with practiced steps.

"Which maid?" Silas asked with furrowed brows.

In response, a young woman walked out of a corridor, walking briskly towards them.

The maid froze as she saw Silas's face. She was like that for over 5 seconds before she spoke again.

"Good evening, young masters," she greeted with a curt bow.

Silas and Amelia looked at themselves, then at the maid, then at themselves again.

Their confusion was evident.

Seeing this, the maid, trained, quickly spoke. "The governor is waiting for you upstairs."

Without waiting for their response, she began walking through the place, leading them to a door that slid open automatically.

Stepping into the elevator, the maid pressed a button.

They felt a slight tremor, then everything seemed to still, as if they were still in the same place. The only difference was the fact that their bodies seemed a little bit heavier than normal.

After a few seconds, their bodies suddenly shook as the elevator came to rest.

The door slid open, revealing an office made of glass that absorbed light instead of reflecting it. Several statues were arranged neatly across the entire place, each one made of diamond or minerals that were worth far more than diamonds.

At the end was a chair, deep matte black, occupied by a single man with brown hair.

He was focused on the paper on his exquisitely crafted wooden table, not even looking up to acknowledge the people who had just arrived, despite knowing of their arrival.

Silas and Amelia looked back, only to see that the maid was no longer there. The elevator had been shut behind them.

"Are you thinking of leaving now?" The man asked calmly, raising his head from the paper with a smile.

His face was young and pale, spotless through and through.

Although his beauty paled in comparison to Silas's, it was still a work of art, considering his age.

"No," Silas shook his head.

"We greet the planet master," Amelia quickly pushed Silas into a bow.

The man waved it off. "No need to be so formal," he said, rising from his seat.

Unlike what one would expect from a planet master, he was dressed in plain clothes, a simple white shirt, and black jeans.
