Chapter 258 - Chapter 258: Returning Home, the Super Gigantic Dragonite

If one wanted to gain the favor of the Lighthouse Dragonite, the matter could be said to be both simple and difficult.

It was simple because as long as they helped it find its kin, that would be enough. It was difficult because there were not many places in the world where a large number of Dragonite lived together.

Silas lowered his head and looked at the many Dragonite that had gathered on the beach because of the white mist earlier.

What a coincidence. There just happened to be an entire group of Dragonite here.

He raised his hand and patted Tropius on the neck, signaling it to descend. Silas then sought out the elderly Dragonite who held considerable prestige among the group.

He recounted what had just happened and explained his speculation.

The old Dragonite let out a surprised cry.

(TN: They didn't hear its cry?)

It was astonished to learn that there was actually a Dragonite that had been searching for its kin all this time.

"That is right," Silas explained patiently. "It is just that this Dragonite may be somewhat special. Its size is extraordinarily large."

The elderly Dragonite did not seem to mind. As long as it was a Dragonite, then it was one of their own.

Soon, the old Dragonite informed the others nearby. One Dragonite stacked on top of another, roughly gesturing to illustrate the enormous size of that giant Dragonite.

The Dragonite collectively showed expressions of shock, yet not a single one objected.

Once a consensus had been reached, the elderly Dragonite humbly sought advice from Silas, asking what method they could use to see that Dragonite again.

Silas fell into thought. In the animated account, the giant Dragonite had been drawn in by the beam of a lighthouse and a simulated call that mimicked the voice of a massive Dragonite.

Both of those were achievable. The Dragonite here could accomplish them.

As for danger, Silas had Cyclizar at his side. They could wait until its cooldown period passed before making an attempt.

"I have an idea. You can form the image of a giant Dragonite to attract the Giant Dragonite."

As soon as Silas explained his idea, the Dragonite immediately began trying it out.

While he was guiding them through practice, Cyclizar let out a low growl behind him, placing a claw on his shoulder as if it had something to say.

"What is it, Cyclizar?" Silas asked in confusion, placing a hand on its forehead and letting the Dragonite continue practicing on their own.

Ever since warning him about the appearance of the Giant Dragonite, Cyclizar had remained unusually quiet, obediently staying by his side.

It shifted into battle form and gestured with both hands, then pointed in the direction they had originally come from. Faint threads of lightning flickered at the tip of its tail.

After staring at Cyclizar for a few seconds, Silas reached a conclusion. "Are you saying that the Giant Dragonite came because it sensed your Miraidon power?"

Cyclizar nodded excitedly and even gave him a thumbs up, clearly pleased that Silas understood.

A light seemed to flash beside Silas's head. He suddenly slapped Cyclizar lightly. "I get it now. It was the large amount of Dragon type energy you left behind when you were flying as Miraidon that made the Giant Dragonite mistake it for one of its own. That is why it traveled such a great distance to search for a companion."

Cyclizar circled around Silas happily, the lightning on its tail growing brighter.

"Then Cyclizar can help as well. We will work together to attract the Lighthouse Dragonite."

Cyclizar gave an exaggerated salute, indicating that he could leave everything to it without worry.

Meanwhile, the Dragonite continued rehearsing, making preparations on both fronts.

As time passed, Cyclizar recovered part of its strength and was once again able to enter its Miraidon form.

The Dragonite had also completed their initial practice and could now form a basic Dragonite silhouette without issue.

On the beach, the Dragonite lined up under the guidance of the elderly Dragonite, with Cyclizar positioned at the very front.

"Is everyone ready?" Silas asked.

"Cyc!"

"Draa!"

Cyclizar responded with a determined cry, and the Dragonite answered in unison.

They were all filled with fighting spirit, eager to meet the enormous member of their kind.

"Then let us begin," Silas declared. He turned to Cyclizar and added, "Enter your Miraidon form and release your aura."

At the same time, in a distant stretch of ocean.

The Giant Dragonite wandered aimlessly. Its thick, long tail lazily struck the sea, sending up waves. Its mood was low, and from time to time it let out a soft cry toward the empty waters.

Just as it assumed that, like always, it would receive no response.

The two long, slender antennae atop its head suddenly locked onto a direction behind it like radar. Its drooping wings tensed sharply, and its tail stopped striking the water.

It was that familiar aura. The call of its own kind was coming from far away across the sea behind it.

To the Giant Dragonite, that aura felt like a beacon lit specifically for it, calling it home.

It lifted its head and let out an excited and thrilled roar. It beat the relatively small wings on its enormous back with force and turned its massive body around.

It wanted to see its kin as quickly as possible. It had waited for this moment for countless years.

As it flew, it sang the song of Dragonite, as though urging itself onward while announcing to its kin that it was coming.

Its colossal body carved a pale trail across the sea's surface. Its once dim eyes now shone like two blazing stars. The Giant Dragonite grew faster and faster.

"Can you hear it, Miraidon?" Silas asked.

Miraidon hovered in midair with Silas riding on its back, gazing toward the distant horizon.

Its electronic eyes captured the unique aura and it responded affirmatively.

"Elder Dragonite, the giant Dragonite is coming. Tell everyone to prepare to perform the Dragonite Dance."

The old Dragonite immediately threw back its head and released a deep, resonant roar that echoed across the beach.

The Dragonite on the sand seemed guided by that call. Following the rhythm they had practiced, they released their power and began performing the Dragonite Dance.

Gradually, the frequency of their wingbeats synchronized. The winds they stirred formed gentle vortices, and Dragon type energy flowed through the air with the movement of their wings, gradually shaping into the outline of a colossal Dragonite.

Even from miles away, it could be sensed. The Giant Dragonite received the response and accelerated again in excitement.

Soon, a massive silhouette appeared on the horizon, accompanied by a thunderous dragon roar that echoed in harmony with the dance on the beach.

"It is here."

Seeing the approaching figure, Silas raised his hand and pointed to alert the Dragonite.

At his reminder, their movements became more forceful, their rhythm faster.

The enormous dark silhouette in the distance drew closer and closer until its full form was revealed before everyone's eyes.

The Dragonite on the beach felt the terrifying aura and abruptly stopped moving. Their expressions tensed, their pupils trembling.

So large. Such an enormous Dragonite.

Although they had been mentally prepared, seeing it in person still made them instinctively raise their heads in awe, exclaiming again and again.

It was even larger than the super ancient creatures recorded in dragon lore.

The oppressive presence brought by its immense size was overwhelming.

Miraidon flicked its magnificent tail, releasing an invisible electric field that dispersed the pressure.

The Giant Dragonite's gaze fell upon Miraidon hovering in midair. It tilted its head in confusion, its massive mind trying to understand.

Why was its supposed kin so small, and why did it look different?

With doubt in its heart, it voiced the question directly.

"Draa?"

"Mirai!"

Miraidon answered, and the two dragon Pokémon communicated effortlessly. Whatever they discussed, it resulted in the Giant Dragonite slowly lowering its height and lying down on the beach. It extended one enormous claw forward.

(You look the same as me,) it rumbled. (Miraidon says you are my kin?)
