Willow
A LOW RUMBLE OF THUNDER ROUSES ME FROM SLEEP. I blink slowly. I'm only half awake when I focus on Dominik. I must have rolled over in my sleep, because I'm facing him now. He's got his head propped up on one arm as he looks at me.
I give him a sleepy smile. "Hi."
"Hey."
As my brain becomes more alert, I can sense an odd tension radiating from him. He's holding himself a little too still. There's no trace of the warmth in his eyes that had been there earlier. He looks calculating. Vigilant. It makes me feel doubly disoriented, both for sleeping in so long and for this abrupt, inexplicable change in his attitude. "Is everything okay?" I ask.
"Of course." He smiles, but it doesn't reach his eyes. "After sex like that, how could it not be?"
