Chapter 1 - “The Boy Who Sat at the Back”

"The Boy Who Sat at the Back"

In a small town lived a boy named Arnav. He was a student of Class 12. In school, he had only one identity — "the boy who sits on the last bench."

Teachers often said,

"Nothing much will come out of him."

Some classmates laughed,

"You'll be lucky if you even pass!"

Arnav stayed quiet. But deep inside, he had a fire.

His father ran a small shop, and money was always tight. His mother would gently say,

"Son, just study sincerely. One day, you will make us proud."

But Arnav struggled. His biggest enemy was distraction — mobile phone, social media, friends, endless scrolling.

One day, after a mock test, he scored only 34%.

That night, he couldn't sleep. He looked at himself in the mirror and whispered,

"I will prove them wrong."

The next morning, everything changed.

He woke up at 5 a.m.

Studied 2–3 hours daily

Kept his phone away

Wrote down his mistakes and corrected them

People still doubted him. But this time, he didn't stop.

Finally, the board exams arrived. His heart was racing when he saw the question paper. But he took a deep breath and said to himself,

"I can do this."

Results day came.

The entire school was shocked.

Arnav scored 87%.

The same teacher who once doubted him said,

"I'm proud of you."

That day, Arnav realized something powerful:

Sitting on the last bench does not mean you are the last in life.
