Chapter 1:

Meherin eventually uncovers the truth. Adrij is the mafia don she has been gathering evidence against. A fierce battle begins inside her—her duty as a journalist on one side, her undeniable love on the other.
"If you want, I can leave everything behind," Adrij tells her one night.
Tears fill Meherin's eyes. "Can you really? Can bloodstains be erased so easily?"
