Rhys' PoV
After Claudia, a lot of them hesitated to speak up and just asked random questions.
"Did you attend the Shifter Academy?" Colin asked.
I shot Jamie a glance, and he most likely used the mind link to speak to Colin because Colin sat down and avoided my gaze.
However, Rena spoke up. "No, I didn't. I lost my admission before I could start. I studied at a human college."
The way she said it so simply, even though she now knew what truly happened, made me appreciate the woman Rena was.
"Luna Rena," Martha called out. She didn't bother to stand up, nor did she look my way.
She was the oldest Elder and also commanded the most respect.
If she gave Rena her support, things would be easier in the future.
"It's easy to address you as our Luna, but you have to give us a reason to truly regard you as one."
"One that goes beyond being Alpha Rhys' woman."
I felt Rena squeeze my hand, almost as though she was telling me not to worry.
