February 14th, 1987. In a small town of Johnstown. A man named Larry DeVille gives birth to a beautiful happy baby girl: Erica, everyone is overjoyed and the town grows ever slightly closer. Due to his work he was constantly away to which Erica's stepmother used this as a way to try to form the girl into a smaller version of herself, making her read practice gymnastics four times a week and subjecting her to constant training and work she then grew to be a model child and at the age of fifteen in 2002, her stepmother began to grow jealous of her at the same time Her father Larry had caught the stepmother in the act of an affair, this didn't bother Larry for he too was having an affair. Erica was caught in the middle of their unhappy cycle. Succumbing to being alone. This all came to a horrifying end on April, 4th 2002, when Erica was attacked in her home by the stepmother's new Paramore: Reese Gavin. She was beaten and assaulted in multiple ways with multiple defensive wounds and broken bones, bleeding continually. Larry came home as the man was doing the deed beating him until he could not breathe and Larry was arrested for attempted murder. Reese was arrested and sentenced to five years in prison. Erica was rushed to the nearest hospital examined for all types of injuries. Erica stared at the blood on her hand for the longest time feeling an odd good type of feeling.
When she returned home, her stepmother was waiting for her, apologizing and talking a mile a minute about her, her father and everything that occured between the two. Erica stayed silent, keeping her gaze to the floor passing her stepmother and running up the stairs into her room locking the door. She barely spoke to anyone. All she could think about was the terror she was caused and the thick red liquid that came from her body. "I have to see it again" she said to herself as the world grew ever so quiet around her.
Soon in 2003, only a year later she attended high school, at first quiet and out of the way, she became instantly popular overnight. Everyone who had heard the story treated her with respect and kindness, of course never telling her they knew just wanting her to live and try to move on. Those who didn't hear respected her anyways. Most of the guys grew to be intimidated by her beauty and she continued on to be a functional regular teen until one fateful night.
Reese Gavin was released from prison early, a miscarriage of justice by the court and prison systems. He eventually moved back to Johnstown in 2004 and everyone knew where he lived including Erica. On Halloween night, Erica went out with her friends like everything was normal. But she had disappeared halfway through the night. When she returned home she was acting strange, giggling and playing with a strange reddish liquid covered soft object in her hand she ran up the stairs into her room slamming the door. Her stepmother thought nothing of it until the next day, Johnstown Police had found Reese Gavin dead in his home with his pants around his ankles stabbed multiple times in the chest and his eyes and male appendage were cut out. Many had questioned Erica but in the end there was no physical evidence that pointed in her direction. Eventually the town grew quiet for a time.. Erica stayed in her room playing with her hair looking onto the countless people attending Reese's funeral across the street at the nearby cemetery. Her eyes never losing concentration as she saw them lower Reese into the ground. "I was fun wasn't I"? She said to herself as time moved on, forgetting Reese Gavin and forgetting all about Erica Deville....for now.
