Chapter 5 - Contract [1]

Really? Is that how you ask?

[Do you know who I am?]

Of course I do. Judging by the sudden appearance right after the ritual taking place, I would assume you would be the God of Wrath. To put aside that, is that how you ask? Why would a God like you command a human to do something they may not want to.

[Goddamn what a pain in my ass.]

[Sigh.]

[Fine, Human I'll let this arrogant behavior slide for now. Hello Noah Hearth, my name is ■■ and I am here answering the ritual to form a contract. The specifics of this contract will be given later after the document is signed. For the parts I can tell you, I want to find someone, and you will have to help me find the person and in exchange I will grant any wish. Think of this like a genie, I can't resurrect the dead, no infinite number of chances and can't force someone to fall in love with you. To make the process faster I have already prepared a document with my magic.]

When the voice had finished telepathically finished speaking there came a strong wind from the entrance of the cathedral that was once closed was now open. What was odd was how the outside of the cathedral at this moment was pitch black as if they were no longer on Earth but rather another dimension.

When the wind had gathered into one place it started to condense and the wind became vivid. The once clear wind had become black similar to the outside of the cathedral, the pitch-black start to take shape into shoes. Then the wind started to take the shape of a humanoid figure with black pants with golden lines along the seams and a fancy fantasy clothing adorn in bones of some animal. The creature wore a boned mask of a goat where the horns gave a red while being black and a gold eye right in the middle of the forehead. To add to the horns, he had fur on his shoulders where his clothes were of also matching color schemes. What really showed from his outfit was the bones along his entire body that were black and eyes along the structures and blinked ever so often but then started to stare at Noah. This was Satan, the God of Wrath on this world. Oddly he looked exactly the same as the old Satan of his world uncanny even.

Satan stood there holding a white piece of paper which did not match the vibe of himself wearing fancy clothes where it was mainly black, so it was contrasted. He put the paper up right in front of Noah's face and just told him to read it and sign it.

Noah looks at the paper in front of him and grabs it from Satan. The paper simply stated that he would help Noah get whatever he wanted if he would help Satan with a task. The contract was too vague and undescriptive and open for interpretation. Noah quickly noticed this and look away from the contract toward Satan with a dissatisfied expression.

[What? You want something to change on the contract?]

Unlike before Satan didn't speak into his mind, rather he spoke out loud. The voice was grindy and husky like he had smoked so many cigarettes that his voice was so effected that his voice changed from clear to scratchy. Ignoring the voice Noah started to speak.

"This contract is way too vague, what is the task you want me to help with?" Noah said with suspension and visible disappointment from before. Contract in hand and took out a pen so he could change the contract before he was stopped by Satan.

[Sign it and I will tell you the details.]

"Why would I sign it without the specifics."

Noah said while holding a pen and the contract with separate hands while waiting for an answer from Satan.

[What's so wrong with a simple contract this isn't an employee contract.]

"It isn't properly done; you should add exactly what you want so I can negotiate the benefits where we can agree to. How can a deity be so sloppy in their work?"

[You're so annoying! Just like Christ! Just add the specifics then, hurry up! I just want to find someone, a specific person who has blonde hair and blue eyes. He goes by Rafiel here. You'll know when you see him.]

"Now that wasn't so hard, is it?"

[Finish the contract and sign it already.]

Noah quickly started to re-write the contract where he had added the specifics of what Satan wanted then kept the last part of the contract the same where it stated that he would get help on achieving his goals. After the changes he wrote his name at the bottom of the paper, but instead of Noah Hearth he wrote Noah Von Neville without the demon knowing.

After he finish signing the paper Satan appeared before him and grabbed the paper and magic flowed through as he injected his magic into it, still undenounced that he had now entered a contract with Noah Von Neville.

When he finished the process, he went up to Noah and started to also insert mana into Noah's core. The flow of the mana started to unwind, and the beats of his heart started to speed up to a rate appropriate for a human.

[It was nice doing business with you. I'll see you when the time is right.]

"Not just yet, healing me wasn't part of the contract."

The demon looked back in confusion and tilted his head a little and raised an eyebrow.

[If it wasn't that then what the hell do you fucking want.]

Satan said with an annoyed voice and more demanding tone, but Noah paid it no mind and simply pointed at the contract that Satan was still holding. Noah smiled as he told him to check the contract. Satan still unaware of who he had signed a contract with unfolded the contract to read it and before long he read the name.

The demon dropped the paper on the ground before his hands started shaking a bit and he slowly turned his head toward Noah to look at the still smiling human.

[Fuck]

"That's right, we meet again, Satan."
