🌌 STARLOST
Episode 12 — "The Signal Beyond the Stars"
Three days pass.
For the first time in weeks—
nothing attacks.
No scouts.
No Hunters.
No strange lights in the sky.
Just normal life.
And somehow...
that feels suspicious.
---
At school—
Aira spins her pen across her desk.
"Okay."
She points at Nova.
"I officially don't trust peace anymore."
Nova looks up from a book.
"Why?"
"Because every time things become peaceful..."
Aira narrows her eyes.
"Something horrible happens."
Nova thinks for a moment.
"...Reasonable."
---
Later that afternoon—
The two sit on their usual rooftop.
The city glows beneath the setting sun.
Everything seems calm.
Until Nova suddenly freezes.
---
Not fear.
Not danger.
Something else.
---
Aira notices immediately.
"What is it?"
Nova slowly stands.
His eyes fixed on the horizon.
"...Do you hear that?"
Aira listens.
Nothing.
Only wind.
"I don't hear anything."
Nova's expression changes.
Confusion.
For the first time—
genuine confusion.
---
"Neither should I."
---
Far beyond Earth.
Beyond the alien fleet.
Beyond known space.
Something awakens.
---
A pulse spreads through the darkness.
Not energy.
Not sound.
A message.
Ancient.
Silent.
Impossible.
---
And somehow—
Nova can hear it.
---
The message contains no words.
Yet he understands it.
A feeling.
A command.
A warning.
---
WAKE UP.
---
Nova stumbles backward.
Aira catches him.
"Nova!"
His breathing becomes uneven.
For a moment—
strange symbols flash in his eyes.
Symbols he has never seen before.
---
"That's impossible..."
he whispers.
---
"What is?"
---
Nova slowly looks toward the sky.
"The signal..."
---
His voice becomes quieter.
---
"It isn't from my people."
---
That sentence alone is enough to terrify him.
---
Because if it isn't from the aliens...
then what sent it?
---
High above Earth—
Inside the Ascension Vessel—
alarms suddenly activate.
Every screen flickers.
Scientists rush between consoles.
---
The commander turns sharply.
"What happened?"
---
One scientist looks terrified.
---
"We detected it."
---
"Detected what?"
---
The scientist swallows.
---
"The Origin Signal."
---
The room falls silent.
---
Even the commander freezes.
---
For the first time in the series—
he looks afraid.
---
"...Impossible."
---
"No civilization has received that signal for thousands of years."
---
Back on Earth—
Nova suddenly sees something.
---
A vision.
---
Not with his eyes.
With his mind.
---
A giant structure floating in endless darkness.
Older than planets.
Older than stars.
Covered in glowing symbols.
---
And at its center—
a single eye opens.
---
Nova gasps.
The vision vanishes.
---
Aira grabs his shoulders.
"What did you see?"
---
Nova struggles to answer.
---
"I don't know."
---
A pause.
---
"But I think..."
---
His voice trembles slightly.
---
"It saw me."
---
The wind stops.
The rooftop becomes silent.
---
Far away—
Something begins moving.
Not toward Earth.
Toward Nova.
---
Because whatever sent the signal—
has finally found the one it was searching for.
---
And Earth has just become part of a mystery far older than the alien empire itself.
---
At the edge of the universe—
the ancient eye opens completely.
And a voice echoes through the darkness.
---
Not spoken.
Felt.
---
"The Last Key has awakened."
---
