Chapter 1 - SAMMY FACE LION

Episode 1: The Rain That Changed Everything

Written by Babatunde Samuel Olamide

Sammy Adewale was a man of control.

He didn't talk too much.

He didn't laugh carelessly.

And he never allowed emotions to rule him.

People respected him.

Some feared him.

Behind his calm face was a heart that loved deeply and protected fiercely — like a lion.

That evening, the rain fell heavily over the city. Cars splashed water across the road. People ran for shelter.

Sammy stood quietly under a small café roof, waiting for the rain to slow down.

Then she appeared.

She ran through the rain, holding her bag over her head, her red dress slightly wet, her hair flowing behind her.

She stopped under the same shelter, breathing fast.

"I can't believe this rain!" she said, laughing softly as she wiped her face.

Sammy looked at her.

And everything around him became silent.

She was beautiful — but it wasn't just her beauty. It was her energy. Strong. Confident. Alive.

She noticed him staring.

"What?" she asked boldly.

"Nothing," he replied calmly.

She stepped closer, studying his face.

"You look like someone who carries the weight of the world."

"And you look like someone who talks before thinking," he answered.

She paused.

Then she smiled.

"And you look like a lion," she said.

Sammy's expression changed slightly.

"A lion?"

"Yes," she said confidently. "Quiet. Watchful. Strong."

For the first time that day, he gave a small smile.

"My name is Sammy."

She looked directly into his eyes.

"I'm Jeneth."

The rain began to slow, but neither of them moved.

There was something strange between them. Something new. Something neither of them expected.

Jeneth folded her arms.

"So, Mr. Lion… do you always stand in the rain thinking deeply, or is today special?"

"Today just became special," Sammy replied.

Her heart skipped.

She wasn't used to men like him. He wasn't trying to impress her. He wasn't chasing her attention.

He was steady.

Confident.

Different.

And that difference attracted her more than she wanted to admit.

A car stopped in front of the café to pick Jeneth up.

She walked toward it, then turned back.

"Goodbye, Lion," she said softly.

Sammy watched her enter the car.

He didn't know her story.

He didn't know her past.

But he knew one thing clearly.

That meeting was not ordinary.

And from that night, Sammy's controlled world began to change.

Because when a lion falls in love…

He does not play games.
