The three men froze, their smiles vanishing instantly. "..."
"That woman is not easy to fool. We have to be more careful next time we tail her," the tallest of the three whispered as he watched Evie leave the R&D department.
"Agreed," the other two replied.
As he spoke, one of them accidentally mixed two chemicals, causing a thick, foul-smelling gas to fill the room. The stench was so overpowering that the production workers began coughing and choking. They waved their hands frantically, trying to clear the air.
The head of the R&D department, a strict, unfriendly man, turned bright red with rage.
"Who the hell mixed the wrong chemicals?!" he roared.
Every worker in the room turned and pointed directly at the three men. The trio stood there, numb with embarrassment.
