Chapter 46 - Can't help someone who has a vile tongue

A little smile appears on her face. She remembers that name. Maybe because of that crown or maybe because that name has made a little home in her brain.

It is quite nostalgic for her. Even though it happened only a mouth ago. She still wants to feel that thrill of brutalizing that Chosen once again.

Skin replies nonchalantly.

"Yeah, I killed her and it was pretty fun. She talked so much so what can I do, you know? I just had to kill her. And if you want to know why. Well, she did piss me off a little. Actually, scratch that. She pissed me a lot. But you know-"

She pauses for a second and steadies her broken voice. And ends her answer with…

"… I would've killed her either way. I don't need a reason to kill or brutalize."

After that Skin expect to see some reaction from these two Chosen. But unfortunately, there aren't any. Chosen are sort of insensitive to these things so she doesn't mind it.

However, even if they're not showing on the outside. There are some reactions at that info of Midori's death.

Jess doesn't feel much sympathy as she didn't know her much. But she also doesn't like the fact that some of Guideless God's Chosen is dead. It just means for her that one of the who can save humanity and lead the way to heaven is dead.

It is a real shame. They need more Chosen for the threat that have to face are like Gods. Not the real ones but these are nothing short either.

Other thing that makes her upset is that, her work has increased. She would've preferred if she hadn't killed Midori. It is actually a surprise to her too because she had heard that Midori wasn't an exceptional fighter. Even with her limitation, one missing arm, she was still powerful at striking form the blind spots. Not to mention, her Frozen blessing.

It is surprising to find this out. But now that she is dead and killed by Skin too. Her work is double or tripled even. She will have make few extra point to save her life.

Mor on the other hand has pretty heavy reaction. He feels regret and shame cause someone else died. It is impossible see that on his face. Not only because of his disfigured face. Also, because he has made himself able to prevent showing any emotions.

Emotions are not a sign of weakness. However, he has forced himself to just be too tough or stoic about pain and despair that he can't show them anymore properly.

Midori's death is a shock and he can't help by curse himself. It isn't like he had a responsibility for her life. But it still stings and hurts him deeply.

After a few minutes of silence, Jess speaks again. There doesn't seem to be any difference in her tone after that info. Which makes Skin quite disappointed. Maybe kids these days are a lot tougher than before. Such a shame, she would've love to see her cry.

"I promised that in return you can ask three questions too. So, please ask them and I will do everything in my power to answer them."

Skin knows what she wants to ask and so she ask without second thought. Also, very loud.

"WHERE IS MAN-MAN?"

Jess asks with a little hint of confusion in her voice.

"Are there two people?"

Skin answers with a shout.

"No, moron. That is one man. Where did you even got that. I need him. Where is he?"

Jess isn't sure what to say in response. She would've thought that she would be asking about 'When can I get out of here?' or 'What is it that you want from me?'. But instead, she is asking about a Man?

Is that his name? if so, that is bizarre.

She peeks a little glance at Skin's face and she looks quite serious. So, maybe it isn't a joke.

Jess didn't think that talking to someone from hell would be too much trouble. But here she is now and having trouble again and again.

"Who is this person exactly?"

Skin pouts but she does answer he question. That is because they won't know who she is talking about if she won't tell them about him.

"I am talking about my fuc-buddy, my knight and I am his princess, he is a sword and he penetrates me with it…even if it is always flaccid. I don't know, it something to do with some with crap about Chosen can't sex or something. I didn't care to listen. I only stared into his black eyes and his expressionless face. He is so…average looking and just so cute. Love that submissive boytoy."

Jess understood none of that. Perhaps, that is also because of her limitation as a child. Or Skin is just speaking an entirely different language. It is real problem though. She can only help if she understands what Skin is saying.

And so, she pleads help from Mor.

She looks at Mor and just stares at him. Someone may thing that she is giving him a message through her incredible blessing. But instead, she is just hoping that Mor would understand her predicament and help her.

Mor does and with a sigh in his mind. He let her know that Skin is talking about love. Which also isn't understood by her either.

Her thoughts.

'Love? But Chosen can't do that.'

It is hard to see through a perspective that she has no seen. Perhaps, it would help her if she saw through a little from Skin's eyes. Or it won't help at all. To understand something that she has never seen or experience is hard for her. She is also young so her experience itself is quite short in this world.

So, she answers.

"I don't know about who you are talking about. Mor saw nobody around you when you were at the chamber and-"

Skin interrupts.

"He must have comeback to find me."

Jess's answer is 'No'.

Skin, of course, doesn't believe her. She would rather die then trust these guys. So, with a heavy weight in her heart. She asks her next question.

"Give back my Dicky."

Jess's response is same and she asks for Mor's help again. Unfortunately, both doesn't know what she is talking about. So, they can't help her.

"It feels like you lied to me. This isn't an equivalent exchange. You cheating brat."

Jess sighs a little. It has been some time since she sighed. Talking to Skin is really tiring.

"I apologize. But you need to understand that we are incapable of helping you. We have no idea what you are talking about either."

Skin doesn't buy that one bit. Even though they're telling the trust. Communicating with someone who is from hell is quite difficult in a sense. One who only understand war and death has a different set of understanding than someone who doesn't.

Like Jess, she has never been in a fight. She doesn't understand why is a great feeling to kill something. Even if her inner instincts tell her to kill and bask in the pleasure of pure violence.

Mor is someone who does partake in violence. But his battle style is methodical. Unlike Skin, he doesn't jump without thinking.

In simple terms, a Chosen from hell would see thinks much more simpler than someone form anywhere else. Violence is simple, it isn't always just bash your head on the wall and wait for it to break. But for someone like Skin that is just the norm.

Her communication is much direct and simpler too. Or just oblivious to how to explain thinks properly.

Skin asks her final question.

"Just let me go then. That you are capable of, aren't you?"

Jess answers.

"No, we can't."

Skin replies back.

"Why? Is lying just in your blood. Let me rip you apart and confirm that myself."

Silence embraces the world again. The easy-going atmosphere that Skin felt before is disappearing and the reality is coming crashing down on her. She is the prison here. A chained beast.

Jess turns around and looks directly at Skin. Her eyes locked on Skin and then she says.

"Unfortunately, that also isn't possible. I would've preferred if you didn't have any hand in killing Midori. But unfortunately, You did. So, thinks have become complicated. Your judgement day is going to be much more difficult for you to survive. But worry not…"

She pauses for a second and then speaks.

"…I don't want you to die. You have the crown that is much too important and your death may result in its destruction. So, you see. I also don't want you to die. You may not believe me. But you have no other choice. So, please be peaceful for me."

Skin bloodlust explodes but her body doesn't follow her. It seems like she has been trapped again in Jess's blessing.

Skin never confirmed if Jess ever removed her metal restraints on Skin. Does that mean she also still had restraints that forced her to only tell the trust? That isn't clear either.

Jess's restraints are so hard to detect as if they're part of you. That is because the subconscious itself has seen the restraints as part of the body. So, it doesn't alert Skin.

Jess gives a little smile to Skin and speaks.

"Tomorrow is your judgement day and I will be the one arguing with the other Guideless to keep you alive. It would be difficult as not everyone is as polite as me. But you don't have to worry. Just keep a good behavior and rest for today. We have an important day tomorrow."

Skin shorts curses as Jess finish talking. She doesn't understand much of what she is saying but it is pretty loud. So, she makes a request form Mor.

"Would you keep our guest quiet, Sir Mor? It would bother others and I can't give more restraints anymore. So, please help me a little."

He nods and Jess nods back. Then She leaves quietly as if the loud curses don't bother her at all. Perhaps, they really don't.
