Jay POV
For once… nothing was happening.
No strange calls.
No messages.
No "Boss" problems.
Just… school life.
Which honestly felt suspicious on its own.
It was Saturday, and Section E somehow convinced Eman to let us hang out at his family restaurant again.
Eman was already stressed the moment we arrived.
"If anything breaks, you're all paying."
"We don't break things," Ci-n said.
A chair immediately fell over behind him.
Everyone went silent.
Then looked at Ci-n.
"Not my fault!" he shouted.
😭
The restaurant was loud in a good way.
Felix was stealing food.
Denzel was arguing with Yuri about something stupid.
David was just sitting there looking like he regretted life choices.
Calix was quietly judging everyone.
And Keifer…
Keifer was watching me again.
Like usual.
"You're distracted," he said.
"You're observant," I replied.
"You're avoiding the question."
"There was no question."
He leaned back.
"There is always a question with you."
I ignored him and went back to eating.
For a while, it was actually… normal.
Laughing.
Teasing.
Noise everywhere.
Even Keifer smiled once or twice, which I'm pretending I didn't notice.
Then I saw them.
Outside the glass.
Rina.
Seraphine.
Standing still.
Not moving.
Not joking.
Just watching.
That wasn't normal.
I stood up.
"I'll be back."
"Where are you going?" Keifer asked.
"Fresh air."
"That's also a lie."
"Everything is a lie to you today."
I walked out before he could follow.
Outside, the air felt different.
Heavier.
Rina noticed me first.
"Boss."
Seraphine gave a small nod.
"We need—"
She didn't finish.
Because someone walked past behind them.
Then another.
Then another.
Too many.
Too fast.
Rina's posture changed instantly.
"Move."
I barely had time to react before one of them swung.
Chaos hit immediately.
Glass shattered somewhere.
Someone shouted.
"RUN!"
But Rina didn't run.
She fought.
Fast.
Clean.
Controlled.
Seraphine moved differently.
Slipping between people.
Disappearing into angles.
Reappearing where needed.
I barely had time to think before one of them grabbed for me—
Inside, the door burst open.
Section E came out.
Felix:
"What the—?!"
Yuri:
"That's not normal!"
David already pulled someone away.
Calix grabbed a chair like it was strategy.
And then it got worse.
Ci-n was pushed back near a table.
I saw it too late.
A man behind him raised a glass bottle.
"CI-N!"
I didn't think.
I just moved.
My hand went up.
The bottle hit it hard.
Pain shot through instantly.
But I didn't stop.
I twisted and kicked the man back before he could swing again.
He stumbled.
Then ran.
Everything started breaking apart after that.
People scattered.
The attackers backed off fast when more of us showed up.
Too many witnesses.
Too risky for them.
And then… silence.
Just broken plates and breathing.
Ci-n looked at me.
"You… you blocked that with your hand…"
"Don't be dramatic," I said.
Keifer stepped closer, eyes sharp.
"What was that?"
I looked at him.
Then at all of them.
At Section E.
At the mess.
At the broken calm.
And I just sighed.
"What do you think you were doing outside to help?"
Silence.
No one answered.
Because they didn't have one.
And for the first time that day…
I felt everyone staring at me differently.
Like they'd just seen something they weren't supposed to.
