"And what are you doing here when you should be attending to Consort Finn?" the Queen Mother asked, a hint of anger evident in her tone.
"The King has returned, Your Majesty," Mrs. Smith replied immediately. "He ordered me never to step foot inside Consort Finn's quarters again. He said he would kill me if he ever saw me there."
"He's back?" The Queen Mother raised an eyebrow before letting out a scoff. "So he already knows that I learned about the pregnancy through the priest, and yet he still hasn't come here to confront me?"
