Chapter 1 - Unnamed

Chapter 1: The Refuge of an Enemy

The story is set in the Arab world. A person named Ali ibn Abbas was once an official in the Caliph's court. One day, a man who was accused of a crime and was being chased by the Caliph's guards sought refuge in an Arab man's house. Even though the owner of the house did not know who the stranger was, he followed the traditional Arab law of hospitality and gave him shelter and food.

Chapter 2: The Shocking Discovery

After a few days, the host discovered that the stranger he was protecting was the same man who had killed his father years ago. The host was devastated and filled with pain. However, since the man was a guest in his house, the host decided not to take revenge immediately. Instead, he told the stranger, "You killed my father, but as long as you are under my roof, you are safe."

Chapter 3: An Act of Selflessness

The host did not hand the man over to the guards. Instead, he gave the man some money and a horse and told him to flee before the Caliph's men arrived. He chose to honor the virtue of hospitality and forgiveness over his personal desire for revenge.

Chapter 4: The Caliph's Judgment

Later, when the Caliph heard this story, he was amazed by the Arab man's nobility. The Caliph realized that forgiving an enemy and helping him is a much greater act than taking a life for a life. This story serves as a timeless lesson on the beauty of returning a favor and showing mercy even to those who have wronged us.

Moral of the Story

True greatness lies in forgiveness and the courage to help others, even if they are your enemies.
