From her very childhood Ganga was a little slow. She had small pox marks on her face and she stammered. She was the seventh and the youngest child of shyam lal.
[[When Ganga was 10 years old, a primary school was opened in their village. ]] Ganga was sent to school. Her teachers took special interest in Ganga .[ Ganga took interest in her study. ]
Several years passed. The village become a small town. [The little primary School become a high school. Other development also took place in the village. ]
One night after dinner shyamlal asked his wife if he should accept ramdas proposal for marriage with Ganga. Ramdas was a reach grocer who lived in other but he was also old uses shyam lal and he also him . She is stressed that he should definitely accept the proposal.
Ram nath came with a big marriage party with pomp and sho. Shyam lal was overjoyed to see such pomp splendour.
[ When the auspicious moment came the priest said, Bring in bride .] Ganga, clad in red silk bridal dress, was laid to the bride's place near the sacred fire. when the bride groom was about to garland the bride women slipped back the silkenvail from the bride face.[ Ramdas took a quick glance. Hello saw the smallpox marks on the face of the bride. ]Hello said if he was to marry her, her father must give him five thousand rupees. [Shyam lal gave him the money for his honour. ]
The ramdas was again to garland the bride. The bride unveiled her face and her hand struck out like a streak of lightning ⚡ 🌩️ and the garland was flung into the sacred fire
She asked her father in a clear loud voice, Pitaji , take back your money. I will not marry this man who is mean, greedy and contemptible. The orthodox people reacted in their usual manner , saying that Ganga was shameless, though they thought her likta dumb cow.
Ramdas started to gl back with his party. Shyam lal was thunderstruck. Every one had left the place. Shyam lal turned to [Ganga and said , but what about you , no one will ever marry you now? What shall we do with you ? ]
Ganga said in a calm and steady voice, "don't worry, Pitaji! In your old age , I will serve you and mother. I will teach in the same school where I learned so much".
