Chapter 4 - Who do you think you hit?

"Ugh, my head is a mess." Wei Chen thought.

His vision was blurry, and he felt like he was about to vomit.

"Am I alive? Did the army save me? Did we win the war?" Millions of questions ran through Wei Chen's mind.

He touched his head and noticed a wet cloth, like the ones given to people with a fever.

He removed it impatiently—he hated wet things on his head.

"Finally awake…" a teenager's voice sounded in the room.

Wei Chen slowly sat up, hating the pain, and was in a very bad mood.

"Wei Zhen, you are really brave," said the teenager. "You actually dared to go to father and mother to accuse me."

"Eh?" That was all Wei Chen could say before feeling a hard blow on his head.

The hit snapped Wei Chen out of his daze, and he stared at the teenager.

Looking at what he held in his hands, he noticed it was a rather thick wooden stick.

"Who the hell are you? Did you just hit me?" Wei Chen asked.

"It doesn't matter who this kid is," the veins on his forehead looked ready to explode. "I am still the patriarch of the Wei clan and a high-ranking military officer."

"Who am I? I know you suffer from stupidity and are crazy, but you don't even recognize your own brother?" The veins in the boy's forehead also stood out.

"Well… I can remind you with some blows." He raised the stick in his hand, ready to split Wei Chen's head open.

"This damn brat… first I'll stop your movements with my hand and then give you a beating… huh?" Wei Chen was stunned when he saw how small his hands were.

"No, wait… Ahg!" Wei Chen screamed as he was heavily beaten with the wooden stick. "Ugh, damn it—H-Help!"

The teenager panted, "Damn, I'm tired. Wei Zhen, I swear I'll kill you if you accuse me again," he shouted before running out of the room.

Wei Chen lay on the floor after receiving a completely one-sided beating.

"Ugh, damn brat… I've never been hit this hard, not even in the army," he muttered through gritted teeth, trying to get up.

"And what did he say? That I didn't recognize my own brother? My brothers died years ago," Wei Chen thought.

He looked around—it was his room in the Wei mansion, spacious and tidy, as a young master's room should be.

He looked at his small hands and touched his face.

Definitely different—his skin was as soft as a baby's, and he wasn't very tall.

"Did my cousins change the decorations while I was gone?" he wondered.

While Wei Chen was lost in thought, the door opened.

"Young master, I brought water and clothes for you to change," said the maid.

"Ah, yes, come in," he said as he turned around.

In the room, next to the bed, there was a wooden nightstand covered with a cloth.

The maid, an older woman around forty, placed the water and clothes on the nightstand.

When she looked at him, she covered her mouth, and her eyes became red.

"Young master, the second young master hit you again," the maid said, horrified.

"The second young master? Not even the first?" Wei Chen thought mockingly in his head.

"Give me the water first; I'll wash my face." The maid was about to remove Wei Chen's clothes when he interrupted her.

Making a half-bow, the maid handed him the water.

The reflection in the water was clear enough to see his own reflection.

The first thing he saw was a teenager around fifteen or sixteen.

"How old is this kid? He's so small… looks like a girl," Wei Chen thought.

"Young master, remember you must go have breakfast with the patriarch and his wife."

"Ah, alright, I'll go." He really wasn't interested; he had no idea what was happening, but he was alive and at home. Even if he looked younger, whatever it was, it wasn't entirely bad.

After being dressed by the maid, he decided to go to the dining room to have breakfast with the patriarch of the clan.
