When she got there,she saw two men pinning Juliet down and she run into the room without thinking trying to rescue Juliet and then she was hit on the head and fell unconscious. When she regained consciousness, she was in the police station and before she could figure out what was going on,her dad slapped her for the first time in her life. It turned out that they found drugs in her blood much to her horror. She learnt that someone tipped the police off that there were some illegal transactions going on in the club and the police arrested some people who weren't able to escape including Angela who was unconscious. She tried explaining that Juliet had called her that she was in danger and she had gone to rescue her. Juliet denied ever calling her and told her she was studying in the library with a classmate who confirmed that she was speaking the truth. She tried showing the call log and message to the police and her father, but everything was blank. She felt utter despair, she didn't know what was going on. "Dear sister, why would you frame me like this" Juliet said in a soft pitiful voice with tears in her eyes "why would I be in a nightclub" she continued with a sobbing tone, "no...no, it's not like that, you clearly called me, Angela screamed trying to defend herself earning disgusts from the police officers and fury from her father. "Shut up" her father growled, "how can I ever have a daughter like you, from now on you're not allowed to leave the house", her father declared storming off. Juliet looked at her pitifully and followed her father. Angela cried that day in the cell,she didn't know what was happening. She was detained for three days before she got released.
That's how her drug addiction started,her stepmother will secretly give her money and help her leave the house to buy drugs. Her step mother will say"I know you are in so much pain so take this money and buy the drugs, don't let your father know" and she was so grateful to her thinking her stepmother loved her. Angela shook her head as she realized how stupid she has been. She even forgave Juliet later because she told her that she was set up by someone who has a grudge against her and made her go to the nightclub at that time and she believed Juliet because she was always in a fight and had made many enemies at that time. "How pathetic", she let out a deprecating laughter.
She snapped back to reality when she heard a knock on the door, "Young miss, master is waiting for you",a maid said politely. She looked at herself in the mirror again and tried to hide the hatred and resentment in her eyes. After finding nothing wrong, she left the room and walked down the stairs to the dining room.
She prepared herself to face the mother and daughter but nearly lost her composure when she saw them sitting there with fake smiles. She had to take a deep breath and joined them at the table. "Angela dear, come to auntie, I asked the kitchen to specially make you some fruit salad, come and sit down", Sophia said already taking up the role as the mistress of the house.
Angela tried to hold in the nausea as Sophia stood up,held her hand and ushered her to her seat like a loving mother, "look at you, you've lost so much weight, your mother won't be happy seeing you like this", Sophia said with a worried look on her face.
Angela laughed coldly in her heart, "keep pretending,I'll one day tear off that fake mask on your face".
