Chapter 1 - Low is Equal to All

Gias Uddin Azam Shah was a great ruler of Bengal. He was very kind and just. He was fond of hunting. One day he went on a hunting at a neardy jungle. He aimed at a fawn but missed. The arrow by chance pierced son of a widow. Hearing the news, the widow was very much shocked and disappointed, because of the fact that the victim was her only child. So, she went to the kazi to pray for justice. She complained Against the Sultan. The kazi was moved to pity heartingtha shocked news. But he could not decide what to do, because of the fact that the complaint was Against the Sultan. If he did Justice to the widow,the sultan might be displeased.Again,if he did not it,he would remain guilty to the widow and to almighty Allah. At last he made up his maind to bring the Sultan to Justice. The Sultan stoof before the kazi. The kazi asked him whether the complaint was true. The Sultan confessed his guilt and compensated the widow. Being pleased, the window went home. The kazi thanked the sultan for his justness. The Sultan also thanked the Kazi for his sense of duty
